The two songs from the Discovery Band this week will be Lift Me Up, a song that is new and they we haven't done before. We know you will love it! The Band will also sing the Benediction, which will be the familiar, Scars.

EASTER EGG HUNT AND FESTIVITIES

Our egg hunt and breakfast were a success, and fun was had by all. Thank you to everyone who donated candy, filled the eggs, cooked and served breakfast, and cleaned up after. You are the most giving and helpful church family ever.

Our next Junior youth and tiny tot meeting will be Sunday, April 19th, following the worship service.

Hygiene Kits for conference - all of our youth will once again be assembling hygiene kits on May 17th to send to conference. The kits are used locally as well as globally in disaster situations. Your assistance in purchasing these items is most appreciated.

A list can be found in the narthex for your convenience. Our goal is 100 kits.

Thank you, everyone.

UMC 2026 Mission Workweek

We will be forming a work team to partner with Interfaith Outreach on local homes in need of repairs. This week is scheduled for Monday, May 4th, through Friday, May 8th. No special skills are needed, and we are looking for people who can work any part of the week. Please contact the church office to sign up, or contact Larry Fordham at fordhamlarry@gmail.com or 434-660-1145. Financial support is also needed for supplies. Please note Mission Work Week on your contribution.

Collection of Snacks for SOL Testing for Heritage High School

Heritage High School students will be taking the Standard of Learning tests beginning May 14th. Research has shown that hunger has a negative impact ona students concentration, memory, and test performance. The Mission Team will be collecting snack items in advance of the testing so that snacks will be available to students during the testing period. We will collect snack items at HUMC from April 8th through May 10th at the display in the Narthex.

Suggested items must be individually wrapped and can be:

  • breakfast bars
  • fig bars
  • granola bars
  • protein bars
  • pop tarts
  • trail mix
  • cheese and/or peanut butter crackers
  • individually wrapped lifesavers

If you would like to make a financial donation for the purchase of snack items, there is a link available for your convenience. Please contact Becky Neilans @

Welcome Center on Sunday Mornings!

We are seeking volunteers to help with our Sunday morning hospitality. On Sunday mornings, snacks, coffee, and water are available in the Welcome Center before each service. Pre-packaged snacks are readily available and should be supplemented with fresh items you can easily pick up at your local grocery store. Folks who sign up need to have the Welcome Center ready at 8:45 and clean up after the worship service. More volunteers are needed to buy and put out the snacks on Sunday mornings, make the coffee, and clean up after the worship service (typically takes 15 minutes). More specific directions will be posted in the hospitality kitchen off the narthex. If you can help with hospitality this way, please click the link below.
