Chamber partners...We're happy to announce that fellow Chamber partner Lori Lord has recently purchased the Fantastic Savings fundraiser book concept and Money Tree Fundraising. We have some big plans to enhance the process in the works, along with our goal of continuing to support local nonprofit organizations in exceeding their fundraising goals.

The newest feature we wanted to announce for the first time exclusively to you is our Fantastic Savings fundraiser phone app! The app will be available in addition to the traditional fundraiser book, and will be sold by nonprofit organizations in the community with 50% or more going directly to the organization. The app will include many of the same buy one get one free savings coupons from our area merchant partners that you love, plus nationally based coupons that can be used across the country! As a qualified merchant partner, your buy one get one free offer can be included in our fundraiser book as well as the app at no cost to you, or we have additional ways to get involved.

We would like to invite you to learn more at our upcoming merchant partner appreciation happy hour  on Thursday, April 18th, 3-6pm  at Akademia Brewing. We'll be providing drinks and snacks, with a chance for you to learn more about Fantastic Savings, what's new, and how you can become involved in supporting your community through the program. Please RSVP to  david@moneytreefundraising.com .

Chamber Profiles
Tammy Gilland

Executive Director,
Piedmont Athens Regional Foundation

Number of Years You Have Been Involved in the Chamber – My involvement began 10 years ago. I have served on the Advisory Committeel, facilitated Youth Leadership & Leadership Oconee, and chaired the strategic plan, annual meeting and Scarecrow 5K committees.

Why are you involved in the Oconee Chamber? For over 40 years, the Oconee Chamber has influenced Oconee County’s development and success. It is a resource and advocate for businesses, partners, and community. Our motto is to Connect, Engage, Inspire, and Empower. Chamber partners working collectively instead of individually can leverage our community’s energy, creativity and innovation and be the leading force for progress and change.

One goal that you have for our Chamber or community – I look forward to Economic Development moving from the County Government to the Chamber. I believe we have two tremendous opportunities – 1) to identify the type of businesses we want in Oconee County and then becoming more proactive in recruiting them; and 2) being a stronger resource and advocate for our smaller business partners.
Courtney Bernardi

President, Oconee Chamber of Commerce

Why are you involved in the Oconee Chamber? The better question is why not? The Oconee Chamber is an amazing organization because of our partners. Our partners are dedicated, successful and willing to give of themselves. With approximately 150 events, networking opportunities and committee meetings annually, there is no better place to build your business!

One goal that you have for our community or Chamber – For the Oconee Chamber to be the first point of contact for all potential businesses, new businesses and existing businesses looking to locate in, grow in and succeed in Oconee County.

Share a quote that motivates or inspires you Our family went through a pretty scary time in 2018 and during that time we decided that our family motto will forever be “Bernardis never give up.”
