Applications for Youth Climate Action Fund

Are you passionate about fighting climate change? Do you have a project idea that can make Oakville greener and more sustainable?


The Oakville Youth Climate Action Fund is offering microgrants between USD 1,000 and $5,000 to support youth-led climate initiatives. Whether it's tree planting, climate education programs, recycling campaigns, or urban farming, your ideas can create real impact!

New accessible and inclusive playground coming to Coronation Park


Construction of a new accessible and inclusive playground at Coronation Park will begin in mid-April, with completion expected by mid-June.


Based on community feedback, the playground will feature rubberized surfacing, a non-verbal communication board, a sensory dome, and wheelchair-accessible equipment, aligning with AODA 2025 standards.


The project will be completed in two phases, preparing the site for the new play equipment before installing the rubberized surfacing.

Community activation grant applications now open

Oakville is now accepting applications for the 2025 Community Activation Grant, offering up to $1,000 to support resident-led initiatives that bring neighbours together and strengthen community connections.


Now in its second year, this grant helps fund small-scale projects that enhance well-being and foster a sense of belonging. With $35,000 allocated in the 2025 budget, the program continues to support meaningful community engagement.


Residents, informal groups, and neghbourhood associations are encouraged to apply at least two months before their initiative date. Grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, so early applications are recommended.

2025 youth centre mural project

seeking professional artists

The Town of Oakville is seeking a professional artist to lead the creation of an indoor public art mural at Iroquois Ridge Community Centre as part of the 2025 Youth Mural Project.


This unique opportunity includes a budget of up to $6,000 and involves mentoring youth aged 13 to 18 in mural design and painting techniques.

Design the 2026 and 2027 Community Spirit awards

The Town of Oakville invites artists aged 18 or older who either reside in or have strong connections to Oakville to apply to design the 2026 Community Spirit Awards.


Each year, one local artist is commissioned to create eight unique artworks to be presented to award recipients.

Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre pool will be closed


Queen Elizabeth Park Pool will be closed for scheduled maintenance beginning at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday April 16 and expected to reopen on Saturday, April 19 (closed for Good Friday). 


All rentals and drop in programs have been cancelled and pre-registered programs have been rescheduled.
