A Message from the Director of Campus Ministry

Dear Carondelet Community,

With only three days of school this week, our community begins its observance of Holy Week.  Christians have been remembering and honoring the death and resurrection of Jesus since the time of the apostles. Easter is the highest and most central celebration in Christianity. It is more important than any other feast in the liturgical year—even Christmas. Every other feast day, or church holiday, points to and flows from the Easter celebration. This celebration was so important to the early Christians of the first century that they extended it to a three-day observance. These three holy days are called the Easter Triduum and are set aside to commemorate Jesus’ Passion, Death, and Resurrection. The Triduum starts with Mass on the Thursday before Easter (Holy Thursday), continues all day Friday (Good Friday), and culminates with the Easter celebration.

Since our school community is not together during the Triduum, we will gather on Wednesday to observe this holy time with one another. Each year, our Holy Week Liturgy focuses on a specific part of the Triduum, and this year’s focus is the Lord’s Passion as commemorated in the Stations of the Cross. With the spiritual practice of Stations of the Cross, Christians recount and reflect on the last hours of Jesus’ life when he suffered and died. Written entirely by the students on Spiritual Life Council, our Stations of the Cross liturgy seeks to help our community meditate on the great love and sacrifice of Jesus while opening our hearts to reflect deeply on our own pain. It is written especially for teens and invites students to look to Jesus as a model of love in the face of injustice, criticism, and hate. There will be a short reflection, video, communal prayer and sung response for each Station throughout the liturgy. We hope that this liturgy will deepen our community’s understanding of the depth of Jesus’ love. May it inspire us all to move into the Holy Triduum with a desire to love like Jesus, to respond to hate, oppression, and violence with love—as he did.

And may the New Life on Easter Sunday strengthen our call to Unifying Love with joy and hope.

AP Exams Prep

Digital Readiness Checks

Our Tech Team will be visiting AP classrooms over the next two weeks to perform a comprehensive check of all iPads and keyboards to ensure they meet the digital readiness requirements for the upcoming AP exams in May. Students will be informed of the date of their digital readiness check. All students must bring their devices to class during this visit to ensure they are properly cleared for the exam.

The check will include verifying that the devices are updated and configured correctly for testing. If a student’s iPad does not meet the required technical standards or they fail to have their devices checked, a school-issued loaner iPad will be provided to them the day of their exam.

Thank you for your cooperation and partnership in ensuring that all devices are ready for the AP exams. Should you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to email Logistics Manager Sandy Bennett.

Progress Reports

Progress reports will be released on Wednesday, April 16, just before we head into Easter Break. These reports provide a snapshot of your student’s academic standing at this point in the semester. They’re a helpful tool for identifying strengths and areas that may need attention before final grades.

As always, we encourage open communication between students, families, and teachers. If you have any questions or concerns after reviewing your student’s progress report, please don’t hesitate to email Principal of Academics Elizabeth Chaponot, Ph.D.
