Holy Week Information
Easter Breakfast
April 17th @ 9:45am
Join us for a special time of fellowship on Easter Sunday at 9:45! Please bring a breakfast dish, fruit, or baked good to share for this potluck breakfast, and place it on the tables in the Welcome Center by 9:30am. You may also bring items to the kitchen and mark them "Easter Breakfast" on Saturday, April 16 from 10-12, and they will be set out for you on Sunday. Coffee, tea, and juice will be provided. Seating will be available in the Fellowship Hall and outside on the playground.

A Special Note
This year, in order to relieve stress on volunteers, making sure they get to worship instead of washing dishes, we will be using compostable plates, cups, napkins, and flatware for our Easter Breakfast! When you are finished with your meal, please be sure to scrape and empty your containers into the marked bins, and then put all compostable items into the trash cans marked "Compost".
Easter Egg Hunt
April 17th @ 10am
Children are invited to participate in an Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday at 10am on the playground! Children may bring a basket to collect eggs, or one will be provided for them.
2022 Synod Gathering
June 2-4, 2022 @ Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, NC
You are invited to join other members of the North Carolina Synod for the first ever Synod Gathering. This event will have time for learning, worship, and fellowship with other Lutherans from all over the state.
There are two ways to attend:
  1. Attend with St. Mark's - Pastor Matt will be driving our newly borrowed 12 passenger van to Hickory to attend the Gathering on Thursday. If you would like to attend that day and travel with Pastor Matt, please email Deacon Katie and she will register you for the event. St. Mark's will cover your meals and day registration.
  2. Attend on your own - You are welcome to attend additional days of the Synod Gathering, and stay overnight at LR. For this option, please follow this link to register yourself for the event.

The Ihsas Family
Current Needs:
  • Transportation
  • Pro Bono Dentist
  • Gift Cards
  • Housing
If you can help, please contact Cindy Lauster at 317.435.8405 or cynthialauster@gmail.com.
  • The family is in need of a dentist who would do pro bono work or take Medicaid for one of the sons in the family who is currently having tooth pain. Unfortunately they can not get an appointment with the county dentist for a few months.
  • When Cindy sent out the volunteer calendar, she assumed that the ESL classes at AB tech would be on the same schedule as AB tech. It turns out their spring break is not following AB tech, but the Buncombe County Public Schools. Therefore, the calendar has changed. We are now needing drivers for the week of April 18 - 22. We are no longer in need of childcare during the month of April. To find the updated calendar, follow this link.
  • If you would like to donate gift cards, Visa and Earth Fare are great options as the family has begun to receive assistance with some groceries on a regular basis but will still need a few specialty items.
Weekly Schedule The Church Office will be closed April 15th-18th.
