Dave's Wedge of Information

It's that time of year again - Masters Time. And, according to the weather forecast, it's going to be a good weekend to sit on the couch and watch the Masters Tournament. I hope the forecast is wrong and that we can get out to the courses to partake in a little golf ourselves , but if not, at least we have some good golf to watch. It should be a good Masters this year. There are probably 15 guys with a great chance of grabbing the green jacket.

If you are thinking about purchasing new equipment this spring, I would recommend that you get fitted. Getting properly fitted for your next set of clubs will make a difference in your game as it helps you find the center of the club face on a regular basis, resulting in a more crisp ball strike. Contact Mark McMahon, PGA, at Ellis Golf Course for Titleist or Cleveland club fittings; Steve Charters, PGA, at Gardner Golf Course for Ping or Callaway club fittings; or Ben Montgomery, PGA, at Twin Pines Golf Course for Cobra club fittings.

The women's golf leagues will be starting soon. Your league representative will be contacting you soon to let you know when your league will be starting. If you haven't heard anything, please contact the golf course to find out more information. Women's League days are Wednesday mornings for Ellis, Thursday mornings for Twin Pines, and Thursday mornings and evenings for Gardner. We are always looking for new members, so if you are interested in joining and not sure how to go about it, reach out to the courses and they will point you in the right direction.

Finally, I would like to wish everyone a Happy Easter. Remember to take a little time to be with your family, then we hope to see you all on the golf course.

Hit'em Straight,
Dave Roe
Interim Golf Operations Manager

New Rule: Procedure for Dropping Ball When Taking Relief
Players continue to drop a ball when taking relief, but the dropping procedure is changed in several ways as detailed in Rule 14.3.

How a ball may be dropped is simplified. The only requirement is that the ball be let go from knee height so that it falls through the air and does not touch any part of the player's body or equipment before it hits the ground.
