Messiah Staff Won Lunch
from 95.9 The Fish Radio Station!
Our Church Staff received a free lunch from 95.9 The Fish radio station! We were nominated for "Thankful Thursday Appreciation Lunch" and won! We enjoyed lunch from Egg Bred in La Habra. Pastor Bob had a chance to share information about the good work and outreach Messiah does in the community and beyond.

Adult Forum is Back!

Pastor Bob will lead. He shared what he plans to discuss:
"After almost 38 years as a pastor for this congregation, I still may not know much, but I know one thing for sure - that there is only grace, for me and for you. It is not about are we worthy. It is not about who is in and who is out. It is the reality that we are all broken in one way or another, but we don’t have to be afraid or ashamed. We come to the table, welcomed, loved, and accepted. It is grace that God would again and again scoot over and make room for us at the table, make room for our hearts and hurts and prayers and say to us, "You are mine and you are enough."

Still time to Help us Reach our Goal
We've Raised $5,600 of our $7,800 Goal
Thanks to everyone who has donated so far. Messiah is supporting Rise Against Hunger, an international hunger relief organization that distributes food and life-changing aid to the world's most vulnerable. 100 volunteers can package 25,000 meals in about two hours. We will host a meal packing event on Saturday, April 29, 9-11am. Ages 6 and older are invited to participate. Free child care is available.

Congrats First Communion Class
This group of students made an important step in their faith journey on Maundy Thursday. They enjoyed a special reception with family in the Joy Center before the service. Congrats to: Adrienne Bruner, Andrew Hodgson, Xyla Mazurier, Brody McGreevey, Paige Roach, Sydney Shaffer, Liam Sharp, Katherine Steuber, Jack Stratton, Cameron Thomas, and Dillon Thomas.

Women's Hike in 2 Days!
All women are invited to meet at Sidecar Donuts in Costa Mesa at 7:30am. Coffee, tea and all sorts of gourmet donut choices will entice you! We'll gather on an outdoor patio to eat and gab before heading over to Upper Newport Ecological Reserve Trail. The hike is about 5 miles of fairly flat, dirt terrain and should conclude by 10am.

Family Movie Night

New Study Begins Next Week
April 19
This 6-week series led by Pastor Jay will look at how Paul brings the Good News of Jesus into Europe, his frustrations and his joys, and how his experiences affected the letters he wrote to churches around the Roman Empire. Meet on Wednesdays at 4pm or 7pm onsite at Messiah, with the 7pm session also available by Zoom. Please join us to learn more about this fascinating man, his ministry, and how he helped spread Christianity around the Roman Empire.
