FORGOT TO REGISTER?
Contact Mark LaPointe!

Dig out those flip flops, pack sunscreen and a favorite book, tune up that guitar, and get ready for UUCGL's annual retreat.

The annual church retreat is a time to connect with fellow congregants, friends and family in a safe and low pressure environment. Some people choose to catch up on lounging and reflecting, others play games, sing, or maybe take on some embodied spiritual activity. Programs are offered for those wanting a little more structure (just a little). So join us, for the first time or come back to this special place.

If you missed the registration deadline, have questions, or need financial assistance, contact Mark LaPointe at [ [email protected] OR 781-595-8836 Ext. 12].

Save the Date!
Congregational Vote on Sanctuary on May 5.
On May 5, immediately after the service, all members of the UUCGL will have the opportunity to vote on whether our church building can be used as a physical sanctuary for a person or persons at risk of deportation. A Yes vote will allow the UUCGL leadership and members to move ahead with plans to offer our church building as a place of sanctuary with the expectation that we will work in partnership with ECCO and other congregations to support this effort. The Board of Trustees recommends a Yes vote. A No vote will stop the efforts to explore using our building as a physical sanctuary.

Please look for the announcement of this vote in your mail. If you have questions about UUCGL becoming a sanctuary congregation, please speak with Rev. Weinstein, the Board of Trustees, or members of the Lynn UU Partnership team. LUUP will also host Fellowship Hour on April 14th and hold a final Q&A session on April 28th.

April 50/50 Sunday Offertory: Cradles to Crayons
The Senior Youth have designated Cradles to Crayons to share in our Sunday offerings during the month of April. Cradles to Crayons provides children from birth through age 12, living in homeless or low-income situations, with the essential items they need to thrive – at home, at school and at play. They supply these items free of charge by engaging and connecting communities that have, with communities that need. Their goal is to help make life even a little bit easier for the 268,185 young children living in poverty here in Massachusetts. For more information:  https://www.cradlestocrayons.org/boston/

The Social Justice Ministry Team will match total donations received up to $500. Please make checks payable to Cradles to Crayons. The Senior Youth thank you for your generosity.

UUCGL News
UUCGL Now a Certified Wildlife Habitat
The Green Sanctuary Ministry Team recently applied for and received designation as a Certified Wildlife Habitat by the National Wildlife Federation. This certification confirms that UUCGL grounds sustainably provide food, water, cover, and places to raise young and highlights the importance maintaining the Church’s wooded acreage in combatting the worldwide declining habitat for bees, butterflies, birds, amphibians and other wildlife.

The GSMT plans to hold an all-church work activity to clean up the area by the pond this Spring, and to include more activities that feature our outdoor habitat in the months to come.
