As individuals, we all prepare in our own ways! As a community, we need to coordinate.

With that, Keys to Change and Key Campus partners are proud to launch Thirst Aid 2026.

All summer long, we're inviting people like you to take part in the collective heat response in the hottest city in the country - our beloved (and sometimes begrudged) Phoenix, Arizona.

Explore ways to get engaged, and add one (or more!) heat response activities to your summer routine!

Volunteers Needed at Project Connect

Project Connect Glendale is scheduled for Wednesday, May 6th at Trinity Mennonite Church in Glendale.

Volunteers are needed at this one-day pop up event bringing vital emergency and stabilizing resources to people experiencing or at-risk of homelessness.

Multiple volunteer shifts are available!

Mary Hererra accepts Mercy Care Award

Congratulations to Keys to Change’s Mary Herrera as the 2026 Individual Honoree for the Mercy Care RISE Award for Inspiration!

“As a Behavioral Health Coordinator with incredible depth of experience, Mary applies practical problem solving daily, connecting with a population that is often labeled ‘service resistant,’” says CEO Amy. “Mary doesn’t give up on people.”

In her many years of service, Mary has helped move more than 1,000 individuals into permanent housing.

April is Volunteer Appreciation Month

Today we appreciate...Tim Wilke!

Tim has been volunteering with Keys to Change for about three and a half years, yet his connection to the organization began almost by chance.

While visiting the Downtown Phoenix Farmer’s Market, Tim came across a Keys to Change booth during the Thirst Aid water drive. Curious, he struck up a conversation and asked about the organization’s work.

Not long after, Tim decided he wanted to contribute his time.

Now, he’s in the mailroom assisting at the window twice a week – and has become a familiar and trusted face for clients. He's so good at the job that staff, Margarita and Joe, know they can step away on Mondays and Tuesdays to focus on other important tasks.

From a chance encounter at a community market to becoming a reliable and dedicated volunteer, Tim’s story is a reminder of how curiosity and a willingness to help can grow into years of meaningful service.
