Call to Worship
O God, stir in me heart today a holy expectancy so I will be ready to and open to hear your voice as I worship you today. May my spirit be open the calling of your Spirit, that in listening for you I might hear you, that in waiting for you I might meet you, and that in meeting you I might follow you. In the name of Jesus the Christ, I pray. Amen.
In the Meantime
I Know the Plans
Giving of Tithes and Offerings
O God, look upon us gently for waiting is not our forte. We like moving ahead, fixing what is wrong, planning what is next, diagnosing the problem, cramming more into a day.
But waiting . . . waiting for the light to shine, waiting for a wound to heal, waiting for a vaccine, nothing in all the world is more difficult than waiting.
So, in your mercy, Lord, wait with us. Be our very present help in waiting. Heal our frenzied souls, calm our fears, comfort and strengthen all of us who at this very minute are with every anxious breath and thought waiting for an end to this disease that has ravaged our nation and our world.
Transform our "in the meantime" into your time, while we wait with each other and pray with each other into hope that is surrounded by your presence even in the darkness, especially in the darkness.
In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, we pray. Amen.
May Christ dwell in your hearts through faith, that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have the strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with the goodness of God.
All the People Said "Amen"
