Mission: Joy - The Film
Two of the world’s most revered spiritual leaders are uniting one last time to share spiritual wisdom and cutting edge neuroscience that show us exactly how we can each access more joy, no matter our circumstances. And just in time, during these dark and divided days.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the late Archbishop Desmond Tutu share their wisdom (and humor) through a laugh-out-loud funny documentary film called Mission: JOY, Finding Happiness in Troubled Times, that is inspired by their international bestseller, The Book of Joy. The film production team includes multiple Academy Award winners and Emmy winners, and is predicted, like the book, to be "the antidote to the times" (Boston Globe). It premiered at Tribeca, and has been featured in 34 film festivals and counting.
Watch the trailer (RT 2:45) here.
The film is offered FREE OF CHARGE to faith communities and other groups in order to help further the Archbishop's and His Holiness's goal of making the film and its messages available to as many people around the world as possible, without regard to ability to pay.

April 24, 2022 | The Second Sunday of Easter John 20:20
Then the disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord. The last time the disciples saw the Lord they had failed. They all forsook him and fled, and Peter denied him three times. Why, then, did they rejoice when they saw him? The story (John 20:19-23) gives us several hints. They rejoiced because they were forgiven. Jesus showed them his hands and his side. What he offered was forgiveness, peace and renewed friendship won by the death which he suffered. And they rejoiced because they were commissioned. He said, As the Father has sent me, so I send you. They also rejoiced to be empowered: He breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.”
And Jesus spelled out this empowerment in practical terms. Those who have been “ransomed, healed, restored, forgiven” are now called upon to spread the good news to all who will receive it. But receive it they must, in order to begin the new life in God’s new creation, inaugurated when Christ died and rose again.
