OUR MISSION:

St. Rita School inspires students in Pre-Kindergarten through grade eight to achieve academic excellence in a safe, nurturing and faith-filled Catholic environment.

We prepare students to be morally responsible, innovative thinkers who, in today’s technology-guided global community, live and share the Love of Christ.

From the Desk of Mrs. Tiezzi

Dear St. Rita School Parents and Guardians,

Yesterday our teachers participated in a very affirming and uplifting faith formation day at the Cathedral of St. Joseph. Fr. Anthony Federico was our keynote speaker and encouraged our teachers to remove themselves from the business of the world and spend some quiet time in prayer. Start small and build upon that every day. He also reminded us of the two greatest commandments -“to love God with all our being and to love our neighbor as ourselves. “ What a great message for everyone! Archbishop Coyne was joined by a number of Pastors from throughout the archdiocese in celebrating Mass. An awards ceremony followed the Mass where our own Mrs. G. received the Light of Christ Award. “This award recognizes outstanding teachers whose lives are guided by Catholic principles, who serve as inspirational role models to students and peers, and who consistently demonstrate excellence in teaching and learning.” Mrs. Robinson (15 years), Mrs. Brennan (20 years), Mrs. G and Mrs. Gertz (25 years) were among those teachers being recognized for milestone Years of Service to Catholic Education. Congratulations to all.

The re-enrollment letter which contains the tuition rates for the upcoming school year was emailed to you last week and a hard copy was sent home with your youngest child. Please follow the instructions in the letter to re-enroll via the FACTS Tuition Management portal as we give first priority to our currently enrolled families. Please note the re-enrollment fee is $161 ($150 plus $11.00 FACTS fee). You will be eligible to apply for financial assistance once your re-enrollment and tuition contract are completed. Financial aid will be awarded on a rolling basis this year. If you will not be returning for the ‘25-‘26 school year , please notify the school office as soon as possible. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

This Sunday, the St. Rita School community will be joining together with the St. Paul VI faith formation community at a joint family Mass, Easter Egg hunt, and fellowship (coffee and) this Sunday, April 6. All events will be held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Mass begins at 11:00 A.M. followed by the Easter Egg hunt and some fellowship with our school and parish families. If you plan to attend, we kindly ask that you donate a bag of pre-wrapped treats for each child attending. Also, if you have any plastic fill-able Easter eggs that you would like to donate, please do so.

Thank you so much for your continued generosity with our Lenten service project. To date we have raised $ 5,032.93 for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. Our third grade class has been outstanding in supporting this Lenten project raising $1005.79 to date! Our mascots, Baldy and Ricky, have been traveling to different classrooms getting to know all our students. A special shout out goes to one of our 3rd grade students who set up a lemonade stand as well as sold her old books and finger knitting projects. She raised and donated the $85 she earned. I know there are other wonderful deeds performed by our students which show such compassion, love, and a desire to help those children affected by childhood cancer. Your encouragement of your child and support of this very special charity is greatly appreciated.

Our JV Boys Basketball team is the 2025 New England Basketball champions. Congratulations to our team members: Adam Sepulveda, Jayden Bradford, Max Yokono, Nicolas Nunez, Deon Kipping, Lucas Nixon, Evan Anker, Andrew Glynn, Jayden Ramierz, Jonah Gray, McAndrew Roger, MJ Kean and Coach Troy Bradford. Way to go Crusaders!!

The link for the St. Rita Summer Camp will be sent out to our families later this week. The camp is open to incoming kindergarteners through incoming 5th graders. Registration and payment will be on-line through FACTS and will begin in April. Please see the attached flyer for additional information.

The season of Lent is a time for your spiritual growth and renewal. Please carve out sometime during Lent for your family to grow in a relationship with Jesus by participating in Eucharistic Adoration, Stations of the Cross, the Rosary, Bible study, prayer groups, holy hours, etc. whether here at our parish or at other Catholic churches in the area. Make this Lenten season a special time for you and your family by journeying together with Christ.

Thank you for entrusting your child/ren to our care. Have a wonderful week.

God Bless,

Mrs. Tiezzi
