FOURTH SUNDAY FOOD DRIVE

We will collect non-perishable items for our neighbors through Tempe Community Action Agency this Sunday, April 23. Donations may be left on the benches at the front gate to be collected and delivered to TCAA following Sunday's services. If you're unable to bring food to donate, but would still like to contribute, please go to dayspring-umc.org/give

SACRED EARTH SUNDAY

Join us for Earth Day events this Sunday, hosted by our S.A.G.E. ministry (Spiritual Activists Greening the Earth). After each service, join us for “coffee, cookies and climate” – including the Dayspring Children’s Sacred Earth Art Exhibition and a 10-minute film on “What’s the Big Deal With a Few Degrees” by climate scientist Katharine Hayhoe. The S.A.G.E. team will provide an easy-to-use household carbon footprint calculator. Plus we’ll offer plenty of ideas to consider as we ask Dayspring members to “Pledge2Act” – identify two new actions your family can take over the next year to take care of God’s sacred creation.

TAIZÉ SERVICE

Do you need a little peace in your life? When is the last time you sat quietly with God? The next Taizé Service will be held in Fellowship Hall this Sunday, April 23, at 4pm. This is a time of quiet, meditative prayer and simple music, allowing the mystery of God to become known through the beauty of simplicity.

DAYSPRING MOMS' FELLOWSHIP

Open to all moms in search of a kid-free night out, the Dayspring Moms Group will meet for dinner and conversation at Freely Taproom (1730 E Warner Rd.) on Friday, April 28 at 7:00pm. Email Andrea to RSVP or with questions.

UMOM WALK TO END HOMELESSNESS

Dayspring has a team at UMOM’s 14th annual Walk to End Homelessness. We invite you to join us on Saturday, May 6 from 6-9am at the Phoenix Zoo, for a family-friendly event aimed at restoring hope, rebuilding lives, and ending homelessness in our community. CANTILENA CONCERT

Join the Arizona Cantilena Chorale as they present Favorites of the Stage at 4:00pm on May 7 in the Tempe Sanctuary. When is the last time you heard your favorite Opera choruses or Broadway hits live? With works by Bizet, Offenbach, Verdi, Gershwin, Sondheim, Rodgers & Hammerstein and Lin-Manuel Miranda among others, you couldn't choose a better way to spend your afternoon. Come see your Favorites of the Stage performed expertly by this premier choral ensemble. The concert is free and donations are appreciated.

CIVIL DIALOGUE

On May 14, the 9:00 Explorer's Class and the 10:30am Contemporary Issues Sunday School Class will host Professor Jennifer Linde from the ASU College of Communications for a class on civility in public and personal conversations involving controversial topics. Professor Linde will introduce the audience members to consider a provocative statement, assume a position of agree or disagree in an atmosphere that promotes respect and equanimity. The goal of the session is to reacquaint us with the notion that we can have differing viewpoints and disagree without demonizing the opposition. Please join us as we welcome Professor Linde and we learn about civil dialogue. Email Jim for more information.
