UPDATE
APRIL 20, 2020
FEDERAL ACTION
Conversations are ongoing regarding funding the Paycheck Protection Program for small businesses, as well as addressing other Covid19 health care and testing priorities. Hopefully we’ll have an update later tonight on the state of play.
SBA released a slide deck yesterday summarizing PPP loan activity to date – note that the construction and professional services sectors have been heavy users of the program. Through April 13, 2020, the SBA has guaranteed 1,035,086 loans under the Paycheck Protection Program. For more information on loan activity, click here .
STATE AND LOCAL ACTION
Planning for the easing of restrictions to the stay-at home order are beginning to take shape. The President has issued guidelines and the Governor is beginning to contemplate the orderly transition with the health and safety of the state's citizens and the state's hospital capacity driving the decision making. This is a hopeful sign that we may soon better understand what the near future looks like and how to plan.
