CHAMBER MARKETING COMMITTEE DEBUTES NEW "MY CHAMBER" AD CAMPAIGN AT 4/12 SPRING BANQUET

The Chamber's newly invigorated Marketing Committee has been working hard to create additional value for you and additional awareness of The Chamber in our community.

The Committee reformed in February with help from Gary Green, CEO of Green Technology Services as the Chair, John Bobbitt, President of Bobbitt Auto and John Campbell, Senior Director of Information Technology, Mannington Mills . These three gentlemen came powered with new energy and terrific ideas and were able to film several mini commercials which made their debut at the April 12 Spring Banquet.

Produced by fellow Chamber Member, John Hoehn from Life After Television , the videos will be uploaded to The Chamber website and social media to convey how we help our Members succeed. The videos may be viewed vial the link below:

Great job, Gary, John, John and John!

SALEM HEALTH & WELLNESS FOUNDATION OFFERS CHRONIC DISEASE SELF MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP

A 6-week workshop on chronic disease self-management will be held at Friends Village at Woodstown beginning on Friday, April 27 from 1:00 –
3:00 pm. Alex DelCollo from Rutger’s Family and Community Health Sciences will be conducting the workshops. About 80% of older adults have at least one chronic disease, and 68% have at least two. Many adults with conditions such as arthritis, asthma, diabetes, lung disease, heart disease, stroke, osteoporosis, and others struggle to find ways to manage their condition. Chronic Disease Self-Management Education can help.

The Stanford Chronic Disease Self-Management Program workshops are designed to help people gain self-confidence in their ability to control their symptoms and learn how their health problems affect their lives. Small-group, highly interactive workshops are six weeks long, meeting once a week for about 2 ½ hours.

Attendees will learn problem solving, decision-making, goal setting, symptom and pain management techniques, proper nutrition, communication skills, understanding emotions and much more. The goal of the series is to learn to live well with chronic conditions.

To register or for more information, contact Alex DelCollo at 856-935-7510 ext. 3223.

ARE YOU A SENIOR SEEKING INCOME TO SUPPLEMENT RETIREMENT?

Though it varies by state, the average retirement age in the United States is 63. However, a survey revealed that 28 percent of retired seniors are unhappy after leaving the workforce due to their financial status, be it lack of a workable income or cost of living. While this should still be a time to enjoy one’s golden years, seniors can enjoy their lives more if they have a little more cash in the bank. But spare cash isn’t the only reason to get back on the saddle. Keep reading to learn about the benefits that come with supplementing retirement income and what seniors can do to make it happen.
