Hope. . .
My great hope is to laugh as much as I cry; to get my work done and try to love somebody and have the courage to accept the love in return. ~ Maya Angelou
Imagine all the people living life in peace. You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I hope someday you'll join us, and the world will be as one. ~ John Lennon
| Virginia Satir Video - Pioneer of Family Therapy |
She continually planted the seeds of hope toward world peace. As she once said, "The family is a microcosm. By knowing how to heal the family, I know how to heal the world." ~ Virginia Satir

MEAMFT Member News ~
AAMFT Leadership Conference
AAMFT Ethics Code
MEAMFT By-Laws
Nannette Nero Zuke, MEAMFT Board President and Christine Charest, MEAMFT Board President Elect attended the AAMFT Leadership Conference March 15 - 18, 2012, Alexandria, Virginia & Washington, DC. Nannette and Christine had a great time meeting with colleagues from accross the country, the offices of Representatives Michaud & Pingree, discussing the new AAMFT Membership Categories, Code of Ethics, and By-Laws Changes. In between all the "work" there was plenty of time for fun and site seeing.
While visiting with Representative Pingree & Michaud's offices, Nannette and Christine shared MEAMFT's "I am ME MFT" video ~ continuing the efforts of reaching our goal of "Education Maine about the MFT. If you haven't seen our video click the link and view for yourself.

Thanks to MEAMFT members and AAMFT members accross the country, the AAMFT Board heard members' concerns and the AAMFT Code of Ethics will retain the words "Marriage and Family Therapist". Some of you may recall that a draft of the code substituted the term "members" for "Marriage and Family Therapist". It is true, that not all members of AAMFT are MFTs, however, those that are, and the AAMFT Board understand the value of retaining the full title in the AAMFT Code of Ethics ~ yea!
With the AAMFT membership category changes and AAMFT By-Law changes, come the need to revise the MEAMFT Division By-Laws. The MEAMFT Board is working on them now through May. Sometime this summer all MEAMFT Clinical Fellows will be sent the revisions and voting ballots. Stay tuned for more information to follow. . .
