AgeOptions NOW is a publication of AgeOptions, a nonprofit organization. As the Area Agency on Aging of Suburban Cook County, AgeOptions serves 130 communities within 30 townships.
This spring issue of AgeOptions NOW includes several articles on volunteers and their importance to AgeOptions and all of our community partners.
Spotlight On Volunteers
Since National Volunteer Week is celebrated each April, this issue of AgeOptions NOW is focusing on volunteers.
Tap Into Experience
Volunteers have long been an important part of many AgeOptions programs. A new initiative, Tap Into Experience (TIE), is building a foundation for stronger partnerships with volunteers.

Glenniece Martin and the Rev. Dr. Douglas Sharp are two of the newer professional-level AgeOptions volunteers. They are drawing on their skills and experience to play pivotal roles in two very different projects.

AgeOptions Celebrates Community Volunteers
On June 20, AgeOptions will continue its tradition of recognizing volunteers nominated by organizations across the region at the 38th annual Volunteer Luncheon.

Caregiver Programs Receive New Foundation Support
Two foundations recently provided AgeOptions grants to extend and replicate the Caring Together, Living Better (CTLB), program for caregivers.
Caring In A New Era
Celebrating Aging: Caring in a New Era, the ninth annual AgeOptions fundraising reception, will be Thursday, September 26, from 6 to 9 pm in the Crystal Ballroom of the Hyatt Regency Chicago.
Request for Proposals
AgeOptions is accepting applications (proposals) until April 29 from agencies that propose to provide services for older adults in suburban Cook County, Illinois.

Unleash the Power of Age!
May is the month to appreciate and celebrate the vitality and aspirations of older adults and their contributions and achievements.
AgeOptions had a distinct presence at the March 11 - 16 American Society on Aging's 2013 Aging in America conference in Chicago.
Help Us Make a Difference...
Last year AgeOptions and our community senior service partners made a difference in the lives of 234,231 individuals -- an increase of more than 33,000 from the previous year. We expect the need for our services and programs to continue to grow as the population of older adults increases every year.
Your donation to AgeOptions will help us continue to provide essential services that contribute to the well-being of our older neighbors and enable them to stay in their homes and communities.
