I hope everyone survived winter and got some good training in. I got an early start on my 2016 season in Panama where I had a disappointing race. After having much success last year I felt a little more pressure going into 2016. My expectations of myself were a bit higher than they were last year and I felt more people were watching.

Instead of going into 70.3 races as a newbie and underdog I now am one of the athletes contending for the win. I am not sure I like this!

This year will be a learning experience for sure and I look forward to trying to defend my titles at some of the races I did last year. Each race season is a new chapter waiting to be written - one training session and one race at a time!

The winter was a little inconsistent for me as I got sick multiple times and just last weekend had a bike crash. However, these lows are what drive us as athletes to achieve the highs. I am motivated and excited to get 2016 underway. I will be racing next at St. Anthony's triathlon on April 24th.

Thanks for following and hope to see you at a race this year!

IRONMAN 70.3 Pan American Pro Championship Panama
February 2, 2016

Well 2016 is officially under way much earlier than in seasons past. The past few years I have sat behind my computer and followed these early season races from Boulder and thought to myself "I should have gone to the race". So, this year I decided I was going to actually do one regardless of my coaches advising me not to. My lead up to the race was pretty good. I would say I was as best prepared as I could have been given the time I took off over the holidays and the training conditions in Colorado. [Read more....]
