The ultimate goal of the Developing Partnerships/Enriching Lives and Communities Initiative at Archways Enterprises is to secure employment for capable people.
The objective is to provide paid training to adult interns who must be at least 22 years of age who are chronically unemployed or underemployed; in need of skills training; are intellectually or developmentally disabled which may include a physical disability. Paid internships have proven to create job opportunities and also helps identify work skills as well as those that need further development.

Through the generosity of the Walmart Foundation, the Arc of Greater Plymouth received a $40,000 Grant from the Foundation to provide paid internships to individuals in the Employment division, Archways Enterprises.
The Grant provided 24 paid internships and to date 16 individuals have received paid employment positions.
Internships may not always lead to a job with that particular company but rather can be a cumulative effect of learning new skills that will eventually and purposely lead to permanent employment. It allows individuals to develop confidence, discover hidden talents and interests, gain experience in a work setting and experience personal growth.
Thank you to our Community and Business Partners who without your support none of this would be possible. Thank you Olive Garden, Accutrac, VERC Mobil, For Goodness Cakes Bake Shop, Plymouth Career Center, LiveLifeBelieve, South Shore YMCA, Old Colony YMCA, Mass Maritime, PAC-TV, South Shore Community Action Council, Kingston Library, Christ Church Thrift Shop, BID-Plymouth, Pilgrims Baseball League, Salvation Army, Kohl's, Spire Center, and St. Bonaventures Church.
