Unexpected New Funding Will Increase
Home-Delivered Meals and Reach More Clients

The Illinois Department on Aging unexpectedly released an additional $1.1 million to AgeOptions for home-delivered meals during the current state 2017 Fiscal Year.
The new funding will support a second meal per day for many of our current clients, shelf-stable meals for weather and other emergencies during the year, additional special diet meals, and expanded outreach.

Professionally, John Lee says, he spends almost all his time thinking about the aging community and the aging population. As senior director, Medicare Part D, for the Walgreen Company, he leads the company's multi-billion dollar Medicare Part D business segment.
A new member of AgeOptions Board of Directors, he also has a long-time personal interest in aging and the concerns of older adults - including his grandmother.

MMW Recognizes Outstanding Members
At Annual Summit

The Make Medicare Work (MMW) Coalition recognized two of its outstanding members at the annual MMW Advocacy Summit April 7. Kelly Rice of Howard Brown Health Centers and Dave Lecik of the Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP), Illinois Department on Aging, received the 2017 MMW Member Award for their contributions to the coalition.

Luck won't stop scammers, but individuals can fight fraud by being prepared. That was the message at a St. Patrick's Day fraud prevention fair hosted by Illinois Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) at AgeOptions and South Suburban Senior Services of Catholic Charities.
