New Member of Our Team
We are thrilled to welcome Jenny Becker to our program team at the  Community Foundation in a new position of  Director of Grant Programs. Jenny will provide leadership for the grants team and will guide the policy and strategy for grantmaking activities. She will begin on April 10, 2017.
The Community Foundation currently seeks a Development Assistant to be responsible for administrative operations of the Development Team including gift processing, donor acknowledgement, and donor database management. Matthew 25 Seeking Projects for 2017 Transform Week
Transform Week is focused on housing projects and other tasks that can revitalize a neighborhood. This year the project will focus on the Taylor neighborhood in the southwest side of Cedar Rapids from June 26-30, 2017.
The Matthew 25 team is currently looking for projects with homeowners that meet the following criteria: under 60 percent of median income of $76,200 for a family of four in Cedar Rapids, elderly, disabled, impacted by flooding, or other possible circumstances. Details and more information here.

Nominate a Five Seasons Citizenship Award Winner
The City of Cedar Rapids is currently accepting nominations for the Five Seasons Citizenship Awards. Five winners will receive a $1,000 donation to the charity of their choice. Nominate any individual who meets the following criteria: demonstrates exceptional support for our community, exhibits the responsibilities of strong citizenship, and develops projects or initiatives that benefit residents. Iowa Women's Foundation Now Accepting Grant Applications for 2018 Awards
The Iowa Women's Foundation is accepting applications for 2018 grants for projects focused on primarily serving the needs and aspirations of women and girls. Six specific areas have been identified as the most critical barriers for Iowa women and girls, and all grant applications must address one of these barriers. They include: employment, childcare, housing, education/training, transportation, and mentorship. Applications are due at 5 p.m. on May 31, 2017. Find more information here.

ATD Nonprofit Training Day Coming June 8
Save the Date! The Association for Talent Development (ATD) Hawkeye Chapter will hold the 6th Annual Nonprofit Training Day on June 8 at the Mt. Mercy University Graduate Center in Cedar Rapids. The purpose of this event is to provide a day of learning and growth to those who work for, or volunteer for a nonprofit organization. Attendees can choose sessions from a wide variety of topics. Be A Part of the First-Ever Operation Salesforce Super Charge
Are you a nonprofit looking to enhance your organization? Think about submitting your most pressing Salesforce needs for the first-ever Operation Salesforce Super Charge event, coming summer 2017. A few nonprofits will be selected to be part of the event. As a selected organization, volunteers will help you evaluate your needs, define your goals, and design and improve your organization to meet your Salesforce Super Charge goals. Iowa Nonprofit Summit in October 
Iowa Nonprofit Summit is scheduled for October 24-25, 2017, in Altoona, Iowa. This biennial conference provides essential learning opportunities for the staff and volunteers who direct Iowa's nonprofit organizations and the volunteer programs they rely on to fulfill their missions.
