A Great Week of Snow and Science at Snowbird!

I hope everyone has recovered from a great week of snow and science at the Snowbird meeting. Thanks to Rich Evans, Maralyn Probst, and the board for a fantastic meeting. If you were unable to attend, let me bring you up to speed on changes in the VOS board. We thanked Steve Petersen and Jan Van Dyke for their service on the board for the last few years. We also welcomed two new board members, Nina Kieves as Exhibit Chair and Jeff Godwin as President Elect. The VOS Foundation had some changes as well. John Chandler completed his term as Director, Dick Lau moved into the Director position from Assistant Director, and Wanda Gordon-Evans has been selected as Assistant Director. I'd like to personally welcome these great individuals to the VOS board.

The board heard you loud and clear at the Business Meeting when several people shared their concerns over the dates of the next scheduled VOS meetings. Due to changes in other professional meetings, we were forced to shift our meeting later in the ski season. Our travel agent Penny Smith has contacted the resorts and the 2019 and 2020 meetings have been rescheduled earlier in the season. The 2019 meeting will be at Breckenridge February 9-16, and the 2020 meeting will be at Sun Valley February 1-8. Thank you, Penny.

Alan CrossAnother date to keep in mind is October 4-6, 2018. This is the date of the World Veterinary Orthopedic Congress. This event happens every 4 years and alternates between U.S. and European host cities. The 2018 WVOC will be in Barcelona and should be spectacular. We are currently forming an ad-hoc committee to help with organization on our end. If you are interested in serving on this committee, please email Maralyn.

I think that is it for now. It is not too soon to be thinking about 2018 in Snowmass. I hope to see everyone there.

Advertisers may choose to place an ad for one billing cycle, which covers three newsletter issues, or select a discounted annual package, which covers nine newsletter issues.

VOS is now offering vertical banner ad space in addition to horizontal banner ad space. Horizontal and vertical banner ads are available in two sizes (single-height or double-height), and each ad may be linked to the advertiser's website homepage or other web page.

A maximum of 15 horizontal and 2 vertical advertising spaces are available in each issue, and priority is given to annual advertisers.

To receive more details about the advertising program, please contact Cheryl Tano
