april17outreeach Community Outreach

This year The Board decided to donate $1,000 to the Art Department of independence High School. Independence High is a small high school located in Diamond Springs. It is a unique high school geared to those students who may be at risk of not graduating.

Jen Tomei, the art teacher and director of the Art Department at Independence High School, attended our March meeting and was presented with the check.  To our utter surprise, we discovered that Jen was our 2003 Art Scholarship recipient! Jen used the scholarship award to not only go on to College, getting her teaching degree, but to stay in the arts and teaching the next generations. Way to go Jen!!!

PAA, again, wishes to thank all of you who have donated so generously to our Community Outreach Program. Please know that we DO make a difference!

Happy Spring!

Those of you visiting PAA's website recently have noticed our redesigned look and feel. If you haven't seen it, please take a look. I want to really thank Vesla Greenwood for her hard work on creating and designing this new site for us. Great job, Vesla!

Websites are always a work in progress. If you see any problems or feel like you have a suggestion for improvement, feel free to let us know. Technically and cost wise there are things we just can't currently implement, but we are interested in your comments.

Thank you to everyone who responded to our spring theme challenge and brought work to our March meeting! Our members are so talented and it is wonderful to celebrate each other's work. It is always fantastic to have so much participation in these challenges. Look for information on another challenge soon!
