APRIL 2018 E-NEWSLETTER
A Message From Our President

Happy April! This month we celebrate Autism Awareness and Acceptance Month! We have a few special events planned to celebrate, including our Spring Family Camp Weekend, our Annual Resource Night at our Adult Information and Support Group, as well as the Splash for Cash on Sunday, April 29th!

We still have a few spots left for Spring  Family Camp Weekend at beautiful Camp Marston in mountains of Julian, which will take place on the weekend of April 13th-15th, so if you are interested in attending, be sure to register ASAP! You also won't want to miss our biggest pool party of the year, Splash for Cash, which will be held on Sunday, April 29th. Swim if you like or just enjoy breakfast and lunch prepared by our favorite San Diego firefighters, a fabulous silent auction, and several exciting special guests including Ricochet the Surf Dog, Gigi the Clown, and Chopper the Biker Dog! And all participants who fundraise $250 or more get priority registration for Surf Camp at Splash. I hope to see you there!

Thanks so much,

Any team or individual that raises at least $250 will be able to register one participant for Surf Camp the day of the Splash for Cash. Registration forms will be distributed at the event for those who qualify. Please bring the required documentation with you to the pool in order to complete your camper's registration. Thanks so much to our wonderful San Diego Firefighters who will once again be preparing and serving a pancake breakfast and chili dog lunch at the event.

A SUPER TURNOUT!

Thank you to all who joined us on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the 14th annual Race for Autism in Balboa Park. With our community's help, we met our goal and went beyond to raise $850 for NFAR  to help our community, providing funding for autism treatment programs, vocational training for young adults, parent programs, educational workshops, and funding to hundreds of local classrooms. These funds benefit thousands of San Diego children and families each year and we couldn't be more grateful to all of our donors! Thank you so much!

Go Go GULLS!

A big thank you to the  San Diego Gulls  for a fabulous time at their third annual Autism Awareness Night!
Such a wonderful time for our families, thanks to all who came and enjoyed the game!

This month join us for our ANNUAL RESOURCE FAIR!

April is Autism Awareness Month. This month we will be hosting our 7th annual community agency resource fair. This is a great opportunity to increase your awareness of services and supports that are available here in San Diego and have a chance to speak with representatives one on one.

It is often difficult and time consuming to explore and learn about all of the services available for autistic adults in our community. We will bring many of them together on this night for you to learn about.

We will have multiple area agencies, who provide services and supports for autistic adults, attend and give a brief presentation. There will be an opportunity to circulate in the room to speak with agency representatives.
