VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT
Marion McGann and Marilyn George, Yarmouth ReStore Volunteers
These two ladies have known each other for three years and in that time they have become very fond of both each other and their volunteer work for Habitat. They laugh a lot and finish each other's sentences. They both agree that volunteering at the ReStore is "meaningful, interesting and above all else, fun"...letting me know that the ReStore is win-win for everyone especially the volunteers and the customers. Habitat Cape Cod is blessed with the support of so many friends who care about the affordable housing crisis on Cape Cod.
We rely on the generosity of time and energy from volunteers, funds from donors and sponsorship and in-kind donations from those in the business community.
Shepley Wood Products has generously sponsored all of our events for 2018 and continues to help us keep our building costs down. We are thankful for their support.
Our mission is to become a respected leader in the building materials industry by investing ourselves in our customers, our employees and our community. We want to be the Company that does it right and the Company that people want to buy from and work for.
With no experience in the lumber and building materials industry, a used lumber truck, $4,000, and an idea there was a need for another lumberyard in Hyannis, Tony Shepley and a partner started Shepley Wood Products in 1978.
At that time, the idea of an upstart lumberyard competing with the six established competitors in a 10-mile radius was preposterous enough that the other yards didn't take it very seriously. Today, Shepley is the only lumberyard remaining in the Hyannis area.
