Melbourne Foodbowl report shares insight for similar growing regions
The University of Melbourne has recently published a report,  Roadmap for a Resilient and Sustainable Melbourne Foodbowl , which thoroughly outlines a vision for preserving and strengthening Melbourne’s foodbowl.

Though centred around Melbourne, the report shares pertinent insight for agricultural areas in Canada and elsewhere, as it addresses challenges that will translate to many growing regions today, including the Golden Horseshoe – e.g. urban sprawl and rapid population growth.

In fact, the Golden Horseshoe Food and Farming Alliance was pleased to be among those interviewed for the report.

New report explores Agricultural Advisory Committees
What is the value of a regional Agricultural Advisory Committee , and what are their challenges and successes?

A new research report explores just that, written by Sara Epp and supported by the Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation and the Golden Horseshoe Food and Farming Alliance.

The decisions of local and regional Councils can have direct and immediate impacts on the short and long-term viability of agriculture. Lessons are provided throughout the report based on the experiences of Committee members, which are applicable across the province.
