VOLUNTEER RECEPTION CENTER TRAINING | APRIL 24, 2019
Volunteer Reception Centers (VRC) are a critical component to a spontaneous volunteer work force in emergency response and recovery. It's purpose is to turn that crowd of spontaneous volunteers into a screened and organized workforce assigned to specific volunteer jobs. These are events that we do not always like to talk about - but we want to be prepared in they happen in our community!

Volunteers give help and hope. They rebuild neighborhoods and communities. It all starts here...

When: Wednesday, April 24, 2019 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm
Hour 1 is classroom training; Hour 2 is a mock exercise. Dinner will be provided.
Where: Marshfield Area United Way (back room)

Please note:  Anyone interesting in joining the VRC group for north Wood County must attend the training, even if you have attended them in the past. Questions? Call Ashley at 715-384-9992.
Sign-up for training by Friday, April 19.

You can learn more about VRC in this video clip.

MAKING AN IMPACT...

AT THE FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER
Bobbi and her two children started regularly attending Play and Learn in October. Both her children, age 1 and 2, love the time they spend at Play and Learn. Bobbi has since expressed how much she wished she would have known about this fun activity and participated when her oldest was born. Bobbi has made connections with other attending moms and become involved in parents groups in addition to Play and Learn. Struggling with lack of occasional childcare options, Bobbi found a solution when she connected with another parent to take turns caring for each other's children when errands need to be run.

The Marshfield Family Resource Center is a place where you can learn how to be the best parent possible. The center provides a nurturing environment in which parents can connect with resources, access programs, talk with staff one on one, and enjoy family activities with their children at no cost. Your generous gift to United Way is making an impact in our community.
