April 2019 Prayers
For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Week 1: April 1-8
Pray for the victims of Cyclone Idai in southern Africa, which killed hundreds and affected nearly 2 million people. Prayers of thanks for CCIH members responding, including CMMB , IMA World Health | Lutheran World Relief , Medical Teams International , Samaritan’s Purse , WaterStep , World Relief , World Vision and all local partners.

Prayers of thanks for the Global Health Catalyst Summit in Tanzania April 1-4, 2019 and the opportunity for Christian Health Association of Kenya medical equipment technician and engineer Joseph Kibet Rugut to present on Quality Assurance and Radiation Safety Services – an FBO experience as TSO . Pray for a fruitful conference and knowledge exchange.

Pray for health workers during World Health Worker Week . Frontline health workers are the first and often only link to essential health services for millions of people in low- and middle-income countries. 
Week 2: April 9-16
Pray for inclusion of local organizations and communities into the Ebola outbreak response in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) in light of a recent study showing high mistrust of responders. Pray for the work of CCIH member the Community of Baptist Churches in Central Africa (CBCA) to train local educators and religious leaders to share messages with the community. 

Pray for a homeless couple in Nigeria suffering from mental illness. They have severely malnourished infant twins and have refused help, with the exception of childhood immunizations from Isaiah 58 Foundation. Pray for the infants and for solutions to help reach the mentally ill and homeless.

Pray for an end to child marriage with a special focus on girls in Pakistan. Pray for organizations working to lift up girls, help them continue their education and discourage child marriage.
Week 3: April 17-23
Easter and Holy Week

Pray for Holy Week services, spiritual growth and quiet reflection on the sacrifice of Jesus.
For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. - Matthew 12:40

Praise for Easter Sunday and for joy in the resurrection. Week 4: April 24-30
World Malaria Day April 25 | Pray for a country-led approach to reduce malaria known as  High Burden to High Impact launched by the World Health Organization and the Roll Back Malaria Partnership to end Malaria 

Prayers of thanks for speakers willing to share their expertise, personal experiences and challenges with us at the CCIH conference , helping us grow and learn. Praise for the Conference Planning Committee and all who volunteer their time to make it spiritually fulfilling and build our capacity to serve.
