Commencement registration and ticketing dates announced


Commencement registration and ticketing opens on various dates depending on ceremony, starting April 1.

Ticketing closes for all ceremonies April 19 at 5 p.m.

All graduates must register to participate in their ceremony.

All commencement ceremonies require a ticket for entrance except the Grad Hooding ceremony.

Only graduates can reserve tickets and will need to distribute the tickets to their guests ahead of time. Graduates can reserve accommodation seats for their guests during the registration process.

UCI's graduate programs shine in rankings


UCI's doctoral programs once again shined in U.S. News & World Report's annual graduate school rankings.

In just its fifth year of eligibility, the UCI School of Law ranks seventh among public universities and 23rd overall. In addition, it's third among publics for clinical training (seventh overall) and third among publics for tax law (eighth overall). UCI Law is celebrating its 10th anniversary during the 2018-19 academic year.

Other top 25 UCI schools and programs include:
U.S. News did not evaluate any arts, social sciences, sciences or humanities programs this year. UCI is one of the top doctorate-granting institutions in the U.S. and has more than 5,000 students engaged in advanced scholarship and world-class research.
Pre-Health Week is April 15-19

If your student is considering medical school, dental school, nursing or other careers in health, the  Pre-Health Week features the spectrum of opportunities available. Events address careers in healthcare as well as applying to medical and graduate school.

  • 4/15     Preparing for the Health Professional Interview  
  • 4/16     Suture Clinic (hands-on demo)  
  • 4/17     Stop the Bleed/First Responder Training
One signature event is the   Health Professions Fair  that brings together over 60 graduate programs covering all health-related disciplines and health care organizations offering internships, gap year and full-time opportunities. 

Updates from the Division of Continuing Education

Spring Career Fair - May 2
Jobs and internships are in bloom at the Spring Career Fair on May 2. Students can meet employers seeking talented UCI students for part-time, full-time and internship opportunities. Whether your student will be graduating in June or if they are seeking summer internship experience, they're encouraged to attend this final fair of the year.



 
New features on Handshake
Handshake is UCI's comprehensive online career services platform where students can search for internships or jobs (part-time, full-time, on/off-campus).  Two new platform features recently launched:
  • Reviews - Students can read and share reviews about employers based on their work experience. This prepares the student to learn about the work culture & environment as they explore opportunities and prepare for interviews.
  • Q&A - This feature allows students to share questions and seek support regarding their career planning process. It provides your student with personalized assistance as well as professional insight.

Summer programs give high school students a jump on college success


High school students can benefit from hands-on learning to advance academic and professional skills in a variety of interests. Taught by UCI faculty, these programs are a great way to gain experience while enhancing a college resumé.
 
High School Summer Institute in Law
Offered in collaboration with UCI School of Law, students are introduced to the legal system in the context of students' rights while they gain practice in public speaking, persuasion, negotiation and legal analysis.
