News from the Art Room

CONGRATULATIONS to the following students whose artwork was chosen to be displayed at the annual K-6 County Wide Art Show, “Imagination Celebration”, at the “Old Music Building” next to Homer High School, which was open to the public through Friday, March 29th. Art teachers were asked to enter 20 pieces of artwork; those demonstrating great care and creativity. Having to choose from the entire student population at Virgil (and Barry) is a very difficult task, but is necessary when space is an issue. I am very pleased to display such fine works of art.

K - Grace Fitchette, Trinity Preston
1 - Leah Ruddy
2 - Becca Byrnes, Spencer Cavanagh
3 - Brooklyn Gambitta
4 - Kendall Mullally, Maverick Zimmerman, Maizie Stiles
5 - Owen Johnson, Joel Carr, James Miller, Kyle Stiles
6 - Danika Peck, Bree Byrnes, Ella Ligas

All of the Virgil students will have their art work displayed at Virgil’s Art Show on
May 23rd. Hope to see you there to honor our fine young artists!
Kindergarten students make bread!

Kindergarten students in Mrs. Morse's class spent time learning how to make bread. They kneaded it in the bags, rolled it out on the table with flour, and then baked it. They also sampled it with butter and peanut butter. Yum!

Vaccine Requirements
According to New York State Education Law and Public Health Law, every student attending school must be immunized.

All 6th Grade students entering 7th Grade, must show documentation of the Meningococcal vaccine before the start of the school year.

New York State Law requires students be excluded from school without required immunizations. The school nurse will require documentation of the vaccine.
