Ted's Talk
Dear friends,
As we approach the Easter season, we are reminded that the resurrection places Jesus in the midst of our lives, not in some heavenly world in which he beckons us to join him in eternity. Jesus is standing with us, accompanying us, inviting us to new life and new love.
The good news of the resurrection is that Jesus comes home to us, walks the road with us, and brings all his hungry, thirsty, sick, naked, imprisoned sisters and brothers with him. The resurrection puts us squarely in the heart of God’s mission
—
to live our lives in ways that express Jesus’ inclusive love for us, for others, and for the whole of God’s extraordinary creation. This is “life in all its fullness.”
In these holiest of weeks, in this sacred season of Easter, may all of us discover (and rediscover over and over) that the resurrected Jesus is indeed in our midst, ever inviting us into God’s mission of love wherever we are and however we serve!
