Connecting Everywhere... Every Day
With our entire world in an unprecedented health crisis, it is a difficult yet such an important time to meet new people and start new friendships, especially when we share the common goal of unifying all through the love of Christ.  My hope is that the technology that we are now relying on for connection will serve me as I introduce myself to the community of the World Convention. I am very excited to be stepping into the role as the Executive Director. This ministry has been led by many phenomenal leaders, people of faith and torch bearers for unity among the Stone-Campbell movement of churches For the past ten years, Gary Holloway has carried this responsibility. The World Convention is in his debt for his faithful leadership. I am happy to report that he has graciously agreed to stay involved throughout this transition. I am also grateful for the role that Julia Keith has and does play in this important work. The size of our team does not adequately measure the impact of our efforts. We will continue to need each of you to lend your voices, influence, and engagement to grow the work of the World Convention.

We are in unprecedented times. I have worked on behalf of the local church and church-based non-profits for more than 20 years. The corona virus is a challenge and opportunity that could not have been anticipated but gives the church a unique stage to demonstrate and share the love of Jesus. Through our unified efforts, championing the work of one another – the world will see that we are one, just as Jesus prayed for us:   “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one —    I in them and you in me — so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.” John 17:20- 23

As I step into this role, I am so encouraged by the mission of the World Convention to proclaim the good news throughout the world through the bond we share as the Stone-Campbell family of churches. World Convention (Christian Churches, Churches of Christ and Disciples of Christ) embodies and encourages fellowship, understanding, and common purpose within our global family of churches and relates them to the whole Church for the sake of the unity of Christ.

What a time for us to live out this mission together! Would you take a few moments and pray that we will be faithful to this call? Will you also take a moment to send me examples you see right now of this being lived out? I want us to celebrat e and learn from one another during this time. Email me at Tina@WorldConvention.org or call me at 502-291-7230 to share what you are doing, seeing and experiencing.

The world is in desperate need to know that God loves them as he loved Jesus. In this season of resurrection, may we be focused on showing that we are One – so the world will know the depth of God’s love .

What a joy it is to be a part of the World Convention/Global Women Connecting ministry!

This month we welcome Tina Bruner to the flagship ministry of Stone-Campbell unity. Her onboarding will undoubtedly bring new insights and possibilities to the Global Women Connecting ministry as she assumes her position at the World Convention helm. And, as we say "Hello," to Tina, we say "Thank you," to Gary Holloway for the support he has been to Global Women Connecting. His regular encouragement to build on the work of women called to Christian Unity has primed us for the challenges of 2020 and beyond. I am grateful to both Gary and Tina as they answer their individual calling to grow God's Kingdom.

The way forward may have many detours as we stretch and bend with the upcoming demands of global connecting in a pandemic-altered environment. Old friends will reach out to new seekers. Opportunities will appear on the horizon. Challenges will remind us to be diligent in our quest for God's will. We are praying for you as you respond in your local and global communities.

And as you go about meeting the demands life is placing along the way, remember the ways World Convention and Global Women Connecting can help you relate to each other... Facebook... Twitter... Instagram... websites. You are invited to participate in these paths of unity and friendship!

Let's renew our bonds - in fellowship and through the love of Christ!
