GOOD NEWS FROM AROUND THE DIOCESE
Ministering to Our Community During a Pandemic: An Update from Calvary

Calvary is continuing it's distribution of food to those in need on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30-11:30 in our garden. Calvary is the Food and Clothing distribution site for Central Louisville Community Ministries and as such we are typically only allowed to provide food for those in our service area. At this time all previous requirements have been suspended and anyone who comes for food will be given food as long as the supply is available. Those involved in this ministry include members of First Unitarian Church, the Cathedral and Calvary. Never are there more than 8 people volunteering. Half of them are in the building preparing the bags for distribution and the other half are spaced throughout the garden. Once bags are loaded they are placed outside. A volunteer then moves one bag to a table. One person at a time is allowed into the garden to retrieve a bag from the table and then immediately leaves and the next person is allowed in. All volunteers wear gloves and several have chosen to wear masks. Everyone who enters the building is required to keep safe distancing and wash their hands frequently.

We are accepting non-perishable food items, personal care and safety items at Calvary and greatly appreciate the assistance that has already been given by the Cathedral and Advent Food Pantry as well as many others throughout our community.
St. Clements & St. Marys Online Worship

Who knew that a tiny aging "house church" could find a way to pray with another community in faraway Madisonville?
Who knew that a Warden named Jim Love had love AND tech skills overflowing to walk another Warden through it all?

Who knew Canon Jason could bring together a group of Wardens of congregations-without-clergy and that the Holy Spirit would find us?

Who knew we'd find new Zoom friends-in-Christ?

St Clements is along for the ride with St Marys -- Morning Prayer on Sundays -- Prelude at 10 am, Morning Prayer at 10:30, sharing of readings and petitions -- and a virtual Coffee Chat after.

We welcomed members of both congregations, a few adult children from faraway and some miscellaneous pilgrims from the highways and byways.

 PS: I, Janet, have been to Madisonville several times in the past 12 years -- but only to work with medical students at Trover Health Center. I don't know where St Marys is. I don't think I ever drove past it on my way into town but clearly, I have been led there again. Who knew?
