Good News

With all the scary and stressful news out there. Here are some links to brighten your day!

WOW! Volunteer John Hall tiled his 100th bathroom last week on Durkee Lane, Wellfleet!

John has been a construction volunteer for over a decade and several years ago, he generously reached out to our Director of Construction Bob Ryley and explained that he could install attractive and long lasting ceramic or porcelain tile floors in the bathrooms, as a volunteer, at a comparable or lower cost than the vinyl we had been using.

He doesn't just create beautiful bathrooms, John is a regular construction volunteer and a crew leader, teaching new volunteers on the sites.

His favorite part of volunteering on a Habitat site is the camaraderie, learning new skills and having fun. He believes in our program, where families are given a hand up, building their own home side by side with volunteers and then purchasing their home at an affordable price.

If you see John out and about while you're social distancing, be sure to thank him and give him a big thumbs up!

Director of Land Acquisition & Project Development Beth Wade (working from her basement home office) has a new assistant “Biggie Rat”, her neighbor’s Guinea hen, who is very interested in Habitat’s future projects.

Like all of us, Biggie Rat is maintaining her social distance!
