Jennifer Stone and Renee Bales
To all the members of our NWIR family,

As we look back over the last month and see the drastic changes in our personal lives, work lives, and society, we question so many things for everyone, especially women. Jennifer and I are both extremely independent women (I told her after I first met her that she scared me, but that we would be best friends someday). So being in this situation brings out the “I AM WOMAN, HEAR ME ROAR”, aka “I’ve got this”. But truth be told, we need support too. At this time we all need to remember that no matter how “super” we are or what is dealt to us, we are a family and a community. We need remind ourselves, our significant others, friends and family (who are willing and able) that we need help more than ever and it’s OK for us to ask. You truly never know the impact of listening to someone, smiling back, and/or giving them feedback. At this time, more than any time that we can remember since 9/11, we need to be kind and helpful to one another. We need to take this on together as families and friends, communities and associations, one step at a time.

We have met so many incredible people thru our experiences at NWIR and continue to meet more and strengthen these relationships. We hope you have been able to join us for some of our “Together More Than Ever” series. If not, please take a look at our upcoming schedule below. We hope you can join us at one or more of these events that will provide you with business and emotional support, laughter, ideas, a sense of community, and a reminder that you are NOT ALONE. If there is ever anything we can do to help, please reach out to us directly. We are here for you. Our emails are in the member directory, so please feel free to get in touch.

Be well,

Jennifer Stone, Johns Manville & Renee Bales, KPost Roofing & Waterproofing; NWiR Co-Chairs

Together More than Ever Webinar Series: Stay Connected, Empowered, and Sane

Our involvement with National Women in Roofing has been a tremendous honor and journey. The work is personally fulfilling, especially when we see how you all lift and inspire one another. With all that is going on, it was clear that we needed to find ways to keep this connection strong and help us continue to replenish each other's cups...now more than ever.

Coping with these challenging times can be made a little bit easier by gaining knowledge and receiving support from each other. To that end, we created a series of online-based meetings that focus on both of these aspects of navigating this new normal. Over the next few weeks, we will be hosting 1-2 webinars/virtual meetups every week alternating between substantive educational content and light-hearted chatting around some issues we have in common. All of these webinars and meetups will be publicized on the NWiR calendar, will be sent to members via email, and shared on social media. Many of the local councils will also be holding virtual meetings, so stay tuned to your council communications for details there.

We're breaking this down into a few segments, so we can have some real discussion about our new realities. We want to share tips, tricks, hacks, and maybe a few of those moments where we just throw our hands up in the air and say Mercy!

We will be hosting fun and informational content over the next few weeks to stay connected and hopefully laugh too. For more details, please visit our website's Together More than Ever page.

Share Your Stories!
With social distancing, it is difficult to gather for Community Service opportunities. But, many companies and individuals are still finding ways to serve their communities during this pandemic and we want to recognize that. These may not be the normal, "organized" events, but more organic, individual efforts. Share stories on social media, tag National Women in Roofing, and use #NWIR so we can share as well.
