Update on Emergency Ventilator Project

Ocalink is a Western Canadian company that 29 days ago embarked on a project to create an emergency ventilator with as few parts as possible that could be quickly manufactured with a wide and diversified supply base ( See original Call to Action here ).

COVID-19 is a disease that severely impacts patients’ lungs and their ability to breathe. Around 5% of the time, a ventilator is required to keep patients alive. Under high projection scenarios, Canada will not have enough ventilators to face demand.

Here is what has happened since the last update:
  • Over 360 companies and organizations from across the West and across Canada have now signed up to work with Ocalink.
  • Ocalink has completed testing with Alberta Health Services as of April 17th.
  • There are a number of Canadian and international organizations that have Purchase Orders prepared for this ventilator.
  • Our newly created supply chain will be building ventilator parts as early as this week.
  • Ventilators will be shipping starting at the end of April.
  • We still need as many suppliers and manufacturers as possible. If you are interested, please go to www.ocalink.com and click the link to sign up to help.
  • We are also looking for senior executives from Aerospace and Defence companies to work with us in our Advisory Council. Please send an email to info@ocalink.com if you can attend zoom meetings about an hour a week over the next few weeks.
