The mission of
Shalom Task Force, Inc
(STF) is to combat and prevent domestic violence and foster healthy and safe relationships and families. STF focuses its work in the Jewish community, to help those that may not access traditional services and need culturally sensitive programming. Shalom Task Force believes everyone has the right to be safe in their relationship and family and supports this by:
- Helping individuals and families access services through our free anonymous and confidential hotline
- Assisting through legal services and other direct services including, but not limited to, supportive counseling and information and referrals.
- Offering prevention and psycho-educational workshops, professional trainings and community programs to increase awareness of relationship abuse and promote healthy relationships.
The Underserved funding helps support two of Shalom Task Force’s school-based workshops. The “Boundaries Workshop” provides students with awareness of sexual abuse and grooming behaviors, vital skill-building around sustaining healthy boundaries, bystander intervention, and best practices for accessing support. The “Relationship Safety and Technology” workshop empowers students with vital awareness, skills, and resources for assessing the safety and health of relationships and increasing safe usage of technology.

We trained our hotline volunteers in safety planning for victims who are quarantined with their abusers. Our legal department have been guiding their intakes through the closure of courts and the impact on their cases and custody agreements and hosted a widely attended webinar. A recording

We have increased our outreach and public education including publishing articles, participating on online webinars, all of which can be
