Of course, we are all hoping life will get back to some semblance of normal soon. But the fact is, our world has changed in a pretty big way and we have no way of knowing what the course ahead will look like.
Today, I wanted to remind each of us about the subtle, yet very powerful energy of our intention. Every thought that floats through our mind has some energy in it that influences our perspective, emotions and reactions to what is happening. Those thoughts may become circular, processing in the mind over and over again, especially if they contain emotions of fear or worry that has not yet been released.
When upsetting feelings are up, it is easy to fall into helplessness and feel immobilized by the situation. We might feel like there is no good path forward. A great way to start using our intention to create what we want, is to ask ourselves what we need right now in this moment. Are there upsetting feelings that need to be released? How can I best do that? Do I need to talk to someone, journal it, have a good cry, see a healer, hold a baby or favorite pet, do my yoga or meditation, sing, get out and walk or go for a drive. What helps you release painful feelings?
And a very important question, what stops you from reaching out for the help you need? Or doing those things that will help you feel better?
Releasing the energy of our emotions is a excellent first step. And the best way to do that is to let ourselves feel them. We naturally tend to resist feeling our emotions because they don't feel good. Unprocessed emotions in the body tend to process in our minds as circular mind chatter. Then we find ourselves wrestling with those thoughts again and again -- all the while trying to resist them.
The good news is that when we allow those upsetting feelings to come up, let ourselves really feel them in the body, they can start to release. Those upsetting feelings gradually become less painful and less compelling. They become easier to manage and the mental chatter starts to dissipate too.
Releasing hurtful or angry feelings will open up our clarity and intuitive wisdom to make the best decision about how to move forward in a challenging situation. We become more grounded, centered and confident. We tend to like ourselves better and accept what is happening in life more gracefully. It can open to door to have some compassion for ourselves for the experience we are facing.
When we feel more grounded and centered, we are ready to use our conscious intention to create the best possible outcome.
We can't always control what life brings, but we can decide how we respond to it.
In closing, I want to leave you with this uplifting and inspiring quote from
Louise Hay.
"I am open and receptive to all the good in the universe. My heart is open and receptive to all good, as I let go of striving and straining to get what I need. I know that everything I need and desire comes to me in the perfect time/space sequence."
