Happy Fresh Celery Month!
That's right, in addition to getting the ol' Covid vaccine, do your future self a favor and eat some fresh celery - the Delaware of vegetables.

I hope that you've come to expect a premium newsletter experience - well, this one is a doozie. We've got updates, new events, and more sweet, sweet GIFs for you. In fact, if you like GIFs, jump into our Discord!

The weather is warming up and I've got high hopes for this summer being the best one in a long time. I'm definitely going to need some high-SPF sunscreen after a year inside.

Then again, that's true every summer.

Cheers!

If you're not sure where to look, check out the Scholarships page of our website. There, you'll find important information about types of scholarships, advice on where to look and how to apply, and deadline information.
If you're considering applying for a study abroad/away program which takes place in winter/spring 2022, those applications opened on April 1, 2021. If you'd like more information, check out the website or set up an appointment with one of our Global Learning Advisors to talk through it.
Sayoka Hart

Who Am I Abroad (WHOA) is a student series of videos and articles exploring the shifts in perception of the self while abroad or away. The purpose of these stories is to highlight the international and domestic experiences of students and staff in relation to their salient identities.

If you are an interested student and would like to be connected with a study abroad alum who has participated in your program or country of interest and shares your identity, please submit the Connect with Alumni Request Form, and we'll follow up with you by email.

Where to Start With Study Abroad or Away?
It can be intimidating when you're just starting to think about study abroad/away. There are a TON of options out there and it's difficult to know what your first steps should be.

Lucky for you, the advisors at UCSC are basically the A-Team of study abroad (minus the van). The website will walk you straight through the steps that you need to take, and if you'd rather talk to a human being, just schedule an appointment with an advisor and they'll give you a helping hand.

And don't forget that all the advisors now have virtual offices where you can find a ton of great resources and also schedule an appointment.
