Kevin Sauer, Lawrence Central Class of 1971, has entered his 26th season as the head coach of the varsity Virginia rowing program in 2020-21 and has led the Cavaliers to 11 top-four finishes and 16 top-five finishes at the NCAA Championships. Kevin was a standout athlete at Purdue and then a member of the USA Rowing team for the Pan Am Games in 1975. Before coaching at Virginia, Sauer served two stints as head coach at Purdue, Yale, and numerous crews at the International/Olympic level. View Kevin's full bio.

Al McKeller, Lawrence North Class of 2017, continues to be an ever-present figure in the Lawrence community. On any given Thursday, McKeller may appear on the sidelines of a Fall Creek Valley Middle School game to help move the chains at a football game. At UIndy he's Al McKeller, all-time leader rusher in Great Lakes Valley Conference history, three-time All-GLVC First-Team performer, the first UIndy rusher with three 1,000-yard seasons, and the man who's just 252 yards shy of UIndy's all-time rushing record. Alan Kahlenbeck, Lawrence North Class of 2017, has been selected as a candidate for the 2020-21 Senior CLASS Award in collegiate men's soccer. Alan is one of 30 student-athletes selected. An impact midfielder, Kahlenbeck is a leader both on the field, as one of the squad's captains this year, and off the field, as president of Saint Joseph's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. All of Kahlenbeck's achievements in the areas of community, classroom, character, and competition can be found in his Senior CLASS Award biography.

Kayla Smith, Lawrence Central Class of 2015, is the recipient of the Clifford Lewis Leadership Award. This award is given to a female student-athlete who demonstrates a commitment to the group above personal gain. Kayla is a part of the Track & Field and Cross Country team at the University of Georgia as a pole vaulter. Kayla recently soared over the bar at a personal record height of 14 feet, 5 ¼ inches on her first try to win the meet, improve her No. 4 spot in the school record books, and move to No. 4 on the current national list.

Gerrid Doaks, Lawrence Central Class of 2016, led the Cincinnati Bearcats in rushing twice over the past four seasons, first as a redshirt freshman. He missed the following year due to a preseason sports hernia injury, and then contributed as a backup in 12 contests in 2018 (100-526-5.3, five TDs rushing; 8-70-8.8, one TD receiving). Doaks again topped the squad in rushing as a senior in 2020, covering 673 yards and scoring seven touchdowns on 144 carries (4.7 per) and catching 14 passes for 202 yards (14.4 per) and two touchdowns in nine starts before declaring for the 2021 NFL Draft.

Cam McGrone, Lawrence Central Class of 2018, was a five-star prospect, rated among the top-25 recruits in the country, when he signed with the Michigan Wolverines. He redshirted his first year in Ann Arbor, playing in one game on special teams. Moving into the starting lineup for 10 of 13 contests in 2018, McGrone garnered honorable mention All-Big Ten honors with 66 tackles, 9.5 for loss, with four sacks. He started five games in 2020 missing time with an injury before declaring for the 2021 NFL Draft.
