C.R.E.A.T.E Confirmation Curriculum
Katherine Doyle has been working with Jenifer Gamber (author of My Faith, My Life), Sharon Pearson, and Jamie MartinCurrie developing a hybrid confirmation curriculum using both Jenifer’s book and The Way of Love.
The curriculum is entitled C.R.E.A.T.E which stands for connect, read, experience, act, take my turn, and engage. We are piloting the program this spring with 4 parishes and 4 Dioceses. The Diocese of Kentucky is one of the pilot Diocese. At this time there is no cost for the program.
We have a group starting soon. Please let Katherine Doyle know if you’re interested in hearing more or would like to join.

Ask for Prayers and Financial Support for Myanmar
Many of you have heard of the increasingly dire political and humanitarian situation in Myanmar after a military coup overthrew the democratically elected government and imposed strict martial law and curtailed civil liberties. The Myanmar Army has announced that those participating in unauthorized gatherings should expect to be shot on the spot, and is again attacking the Karen People. Thousands of Karen refugees are seeking asylum in Thailand. The Thai government is providing some assistance, but is also sending many people back to Myanmar.
In addition to the chaos of war, one of the largest refugee camps in Thailand has also suffered storm damage, which destroyed many of the buildings in the camp. The situation is catastrophic.

Virtual Suicide Prevention Training
Lexington VA Health care System is conducting a two-hour virtual clergy training on suicide prevention and belonging. This virtual training offers critical resources to educate and support the faith leaders in suicide prevention and to consider potential roles of clergy in providing assistance with Veteran care and potential for faith communities to provide a place Veterans can call home. Episcopal Church Year in the Life web series explores challenges of past year.
A Year in the Life is a new web series from The Episcopal Church that documents how Episcopal churches, schools, and ministries have navigated a very contentious and difficult year. New episodes of A Year in the Life will be released every two weeks beginning on April 20. Episcopal Toolkit for COVID-19 Vaccination Distribution
The Episcopal Church’s Office of Government Relations has developed a toolkit for individuals, congregations and ministries to facilitate and promote COVID-19 vaccine distribution in the United States. This toolkit promotes the ongoing work that parishes and dioceses have already been doing, shares best practices, and offers ideas for ways that communities can help U.S.- based Episcopalians to facilitate vaccination, overcome vaccine hesitancy, and find information from state and local officials. Churches and church leaders (lay and ordained) can serve as an important trusted bridge between public health officials and communities. Read more (In English and Spanish) here. |
