Stephen Grand: In Memoriam
The Nancy and Stephen Grand Family House honors a compassionate man and extraordinary philanthropist.

Stephen will be remembered with love and respect by thousands of families whose path through cancer will be made a little easier thanks to his and Nancy’s generosity. Stephen’s kindness will be cherished, especially by those of us who were fortunate enough to know him.

Become a Monthly Donor, Today!
Making a monthly recurring gift to Family House is one of the best ways to provide shelter, food, care and comfort to all the patients, siblings and parents that walk through our doors. As we mark 40 years of operation, your monthly gift will ensure we are here for the next 40 years.
Family House Staff Honored by UCSF
Please join us in congratulating Sarah Yaeger, Manager of Hospitality Services, for receiving the David Knopf Award for Service for the Ida M. Cannon Awards at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital, San Francisco!

The Ida M. Cannon Awards were begun as part of Social Work Month to honor medical center colleagues for their meritorious service consistent with core human and social work values as outlined in the Code of Ethics of the National Association of Social Workers. Well done, Sarah!
Support YPAC at Bay to Breakers
Family House's Young Professionals Advisory Council (YPAC) comes together every year to run San Francisco's annual Bay to Breakers race. While the event is virtual this year, YPAC members will be running the 7.5 mile distance together (from afar) the week of May 24 - May 30, 2021. Your donation supports the YPAC team with proceeds directed to the families staying at Family House.
Special thanks to SoMa Rotary and Melinda Lee who delivered a cart full of new toys to add to Fozzy's Toy Room! We are always in need of new toys to keep Fozzy's stocked, so that every child who walks through our doors can pick out something special during their stay.
As we continue to celebrate 40 years of the community at Family House, many former families recognized this illustration of the old house on Irving St. circa 1984. Some even remembered exactly which room they stayed in!
Welcome Spring!
We loved having Bobby the Easter Bunny back at Family House last week, which was perfect timing to welcome spring and some warmer weather! Check out some photos of the day and the Facebook Live! Special thanks to Salesforce, Rob Dudum, Mark Klanjack, and their families, and the National Charity League for helping make the festivities extra special for the kids and their families staying at Family House during the pandemic and their treatment at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital.

There's still plenty of time to make one of the spring craft activities the Family Services Committee curated for April.

Family House continues to be open during the COVID-19 health crisis. Though we are operating with a significantly smaller staff and have suspended nearly all volunteer activities, we are committed to maintaining our mission of providing compassionate care and dignity to families in need.
