Zoo-de-Mackinac Pancake Tailgate Party - Saturday, May 22
Every year a few Laker alumni participate in the ride, and one great tradition that has developed over the years is a pancake tailgate party in the parking lot prior to the ride. This year we'd like to extend an invitation to alumni living in the area to come join!
Breakfast is open to all area alumni and their families - participation in the Zoo-de-Mackinac is NOT necessary. You don't have to ride one block on your bike. Just come eat pancakes! Laker Alumnus and race veteran Mark Poletti '79 is hosting the pancake tailgate party.
Breakfast will run from 8:00am to 9:30am Saturday, May 22 in the main parking lot of Boyne Highlands Resort. Look for the lot with hundreds of cars in it, and then look for the Laker flag extending high above the cars. Mark usually gets a spot way up front, near the building.
It is a sure sign of warmer days are ahead here in Northern Michigan when our monthly newsletter is highlighting the upcoming Zoo-de-Mack cycling event and the Lake State Golf Classic. I am choosing to ignore Mother Nature and her current sense of humor with the Sault weather however.

The scholarship established by Steadfast Labs in support of LSSU Cannabis Chemistry students received an additional publicity boost when Jimmy Fallon featured it during his monologue recently on the Tonight Show. The LSSU Cannabis Chemistry and Business programs are preparing Lakers for outstanding, professional opportunities in one of the most burgeoning industries. We appreciate Mr. Fallon’s assistance.

This edition also includes some outstanding achievements by our student-athletes and alumni please know we are proud of all of you.
