April 2021
We build community by providing exceptional programs, places and services
for Morgan Hill that inspire happy and healthy lives.
More Membership Flexibility!

Beginning April 19, 2021, members will have more flexibility at the CRC! We will no longer require reservations for the Fitness Center and Cardio Equipment. Reservations will still be required for Group Exercise, Kids Club, Lap Swim, and Aqua Fitness due to capacity limitations.

In addition, we will no longer be closing for 15 minutes to clean the equipment between reservations. Cleaning and disinfecting will take place throughout the day with each piece of equipment on a deep cleaning schedule. We will still provide cleaning bottles to our members with the same expectations of keeping you and your family safe while at our facility.

We hope you enjoy getting some convenience of your schedule back! Please let us know if you have any questions regarding these changes.

Kids Club

We are excited to be able to welcome your children back to their second home, Kids’ Club starting Monday, April 19, 2021! The CRC Kids' Club provides safe, programmed activities for youth 2 years to 9 years of age while parents are working out. At Kids' Club we will provide a stimulating and safe environment for children to develop physical, verbal, social and emotional skills needed to thrive. Kids’ Club is a 90 minute member benefit. Your children will leave the program with new friends, and skills learned through play! At this time due to COVID-19 and State/County Guidelines, Kids’ Club has been modified and structured to ensure stable groups for a two week period. Reservations, including COVID Safety Protocols and Guidelines are available online, make your reservation TODAY!
 Group X-pansion

We are happy to announce that we are going to kick off the completion of the studio with a large variety of classes being held in the studio starting the week of April 19, 2021. The Group Exercise schedule with those classes will be posted online on Friday, April 16, 2021. We have some fun giveaways for members taking class that week, so you won’t want to miss out!

Summer 2021 Digital Recreation Activity Guide

The City of Morgan Hill is excited to provide in-person recreational activities this summer! The digital-only Summer Recreation Activity Guide is your resource for City activities and programs taking place through the months of June, July, and August. Our programming includes swim lessons, recreation preschool, sports programs, dance classes, our annual Youth Leadership Morgan Hill program, and more. Our guide will be available online the week of April 12, 2021 and online registration will open on April 15, 2021.
Check www.morganhill.ca.gov/recguide for updates.

Aquatic Center Pool Deck Repairs

Between April 12, 2021 and May 1, 2021 we will be getting work done to repair and replace some of the pool decking at the Aquatic Center. We are working diligently with the contractors to ensure the facility remains open, as a result, there will be an impact on lane availability and some classes during the three-week timeframe. There will also be louder than normal noise on the deck as they do the work.

The sign-up genius links will be the most accurate place to reference lane and class availability. Every effort is being made to remain open during construction, and we appreciate your patience as we work together to maintain our facility and keep you active and safe.

Self-Esteem – Young person reports having high self esteem

Jenny Zuercher, YAC Active Member
From when I was in sixth grade until a couple of months ago, self-esteem was not something I had. It was always the routine of making my friend talk for me, never speaking my opinion, and taking criticisms way too personally. However, these habits stopped months ago because of the confidence I gained in YAC. When I first joined YAC, the unmute button was my worst fear, and saying my opinion was not for me. Through many meetings, workshops, and projects, I developed better self-esteem, week by week. I gained this confidence from both criticism and encouragement our advisors would give me and the rest of the group. They helped me improve in a variety of ways, and this directly influenced my self-esteem in a positive way. In addition, I also received compliments that boosted the way I thought about myself. In just a couple of months, my self-esteem went from rock bottom all the way up to being able to speak my opinion without having any nerves.

Watering Day Changes Effective April 1 - October 31

Water is always a precious resource in Morgan Hill and with this in mind, our permanent watering restrictions have been designed to best manage the City's potable water supply. These restrictions will help us avoid or minimize the effects of drought, climate change and the unreliability of the imported water infrastructure that serves the City of Morgan Hill.

From April 1, 2021 through October 31, 2021, watering is limited to three days a week.

  • Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays for odd-numbered addresses
  • Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays for even-numbered addresses
  • No watering on Wednesdays
  • Irrigation is allowed before 9 a.m. or after 7 p.m.
  • Watering is limited to no more than 15 minutes per station

Complete rules and restrictions can be found at www.mhvalueswater.com. For more information, email environ@morganhill.ca.gov or call 408-310-4169. Thank you for conserving water!
