April Holidays

Wishing all a happy Passover and Easter! We've outlined some ways that you can safely celebrate with your friends and loved ones.

  • Host a Zoom dinner to connect with family and friends.

  • Tie-dye hardboiled eggs.

  • Create DIY baskets with your creative art making skills.

  • Have a cozy night in watching movies and participate in virtual games.

Welcome to the end of the Semester!
Families, the spring semester is officially ending this month! Here are some ways you can help your students during this transition:

  • Make sure your student signs up for a move-out appointment!

  • Be patient with your students - they just finished finals and are transitioning into a new semester.

  • Check-in with your students - ask how the semester went.

  • Continue to encourage and motivate your students, especially if they are taking a semester off before fall!

Graduation is right around the corner!

This semester, the commencement ceremony will be occurring in-person at the stadium and live-streamed for those who cannot physically attend.
Career Center now offering Micro-Internships!
Micro-Internships are short-term, paid, professional assignments that are similar to those given to new hires or interns. These projects enable Career Launchers to demonstrate skills, explore career paths, and build their networks as they seek the right full-time role. Unlike traditional internships, Micro-Internships can take place year-round, typically range from 5 to 40 hours of work, and are due between one week and one month after kick-off.

In the last academic year, 96% of FAU students who heard someone saying something demeaning or offensive spoke out (EverFi, 2021). In an era of online learning, FAU is making strides to build safe online spaces free from sexual harassment. During It’s On Us week (April 12-16th, 2021), we are asking students to help us cultivate these spaces by:
  • Reporting inappropriate content to have it flagged or removed.
  • Speaking out when they see inappropriate comments.
  • Showing support for victims of online harassment by checking in and/or helping connect them to resources. FAU offers a Victim Services Hotline for 24/7 support (561-297-0500).

Encourage your student action at FAU by downloading your virtual toolkit and participating in It’s On Us events this April! Learn more at www.fau.edu/campuslife/itsonus or check out It’s On Us on the MyFAU mobile app!
