Dear Residents and Community Members:

As April and this year's Earth Day celebration comes to a close, it is fitting to mention the tremendous effort put forth recently in cleaning up our Town! We are grateful to the Town of Monroe Highway Department for their hard work in cleaning up the Seven Springs Road area and we thank the leadership in Palm Tree and Kiryas Joel for their contribution as well.

We are also pleased to share that 200 volunteers came together for the annual Monroe Clean Sweep event this past Saturday--a record number of participants in recent years! From the youth of our community to senior citizens, scout groups and local officials, it was inspiring to see the dedication and effort put forth to clean and beautify Monroe!  Working in conjunction with the Greater Monroe Chamber of Commerce, the Village of Monroe and the Village of Harriman, over 250 bags of garbage were collected throughout our community. We extend our gratitude to the sponsors of this event and those who supported our efforts through their participation.

Together, we can all be active participants in keeping our community clean on a daily basis! Thanks for doing your part.

Cordially,

Tony Cardone

Supervisor, Town of Monroe

If You See Something, Say Something!

The Town of Monroe is grateful for the recent actions of Monroe-Woodbury School Bus Driver, Scott McClennan. As Scott was on his route, he witnessed illegal dumping in the Seven Springs Road area and immediately reported it to the Bus Garage dispatcher. State Police were notified and as a result of this team effort, the individual responsible was held accountable. In addition to State Police, the DEC has played a crucial role in patrolling the area and has ticketed several individuals in violation. We appreciate the collective efforts of our residents, community members and law enforcement and the role they play in keeping our community safe and clean!
