Fort Worth Housing Solutions is partnering with the City of Fort Worth to distribute a significant amount of federal relief funds to Fort Worth residents who have experienced a loss of income due to COVID-19 and have fallen two months or more behind on rent or utilities. Financial assistance can cover back payments owed from March 13, 2020, the date of the federal pandemic disaster declaration, through Dec. 31, 2021. Awards will be allocated until available funds are exhausted.
Funding is provided by U.S. Treasury Department and Texas Department of Housing & Community Affairs. Similar assistance is available through other municipalities and the Texas Rent Relief Program.
Tenants and landlords may apply. In most cases, FWHS will allocate funds directly to landlords and utility providers. If a landlord does not wish to participate, funds may be paid directly to the eligible head of household.
FWHS has a dedicated team processing applications now. Don’t get evicted!

NOW THROUGH MAY 22
Evolution of Affordable Housing Exhibit
|
|
What does affordable housing look like? How has Fort Worth ensured that its residents have safe, affordable homes throughout the decades? What will we build in the future?
See for yourself at the free Evolution of Affordable Housing exhibit on display through May 22, 2021, at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center, 1300 Gendy St., in the Cultural District. The exhibit was installed in recognition of Fair Housing Month. (Ripley Arnold Place photo, right, courtesy of Fort Worth Public Library)
The exhibit is co-produced by the Fort Worth Community Arts Center, Fort Worth Housing Solutions, the Fort Worth Library and the City of Fort Worth's Department of Diversity and Inclusion. It features 30 images documenting the city’s affordable housing stock from the late 1930s through the era of red brick public housing communities to the modern model of mixed-income housing dispersed throughout the city.
Also featured is the 2020 Butler Place documentary produced by FWHS and the City of Fort Worth that premiered in January at the Denton Black Film Festival. View the video on YouTube at https://youtu.be/wUwqhfYuBU8.
