Happy Spring fellow chamber members!
Now that the weather is warming up it seems that we have finally left the cold and snow behind us for a time. People are starting to get out and enjoy the blooming flowers, trees and greenery that is so prevalent in our area. This is a great time of year to dust off the cobwebs and get back out in the community. While we are still limited in some aspects of what can be done, local businesses are opening back up, and encouraging guests to visit their establishments again. Now is a great time to visit our beautiful downtown and go to the wonderful restaurants, unique shops, and stroll through the parks.
Spring, of course, will yield to summer before we know it and that will mark a time of even more outdoor opportunities like swimming, boating, and golfing. Mark those calendars now for the Lisle Area Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Golf Outing sponsored by Molex, LLC. The Golf Outing will take place on July 13th at the beautiful Seven Bridges Golf Club with a 1:00pm shotgun start. This is just one of the great events that we hope to see you all enjoying and participating in.
I hope that you all have a wonderful spring filled with lots of time enjoying our community and the businesses who have made up our unique community for so many years.

More than 150 business leaders representing 29 chambers participated in the virtual 19th Annual Multi-Chamber Economic Outlook Presentation on March 3rd with guest speaker Anna Paulson, Executive Vice President and Director of Research of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. We thank Larry Forssberg, Executive Director of the Westmont Chamber for taking the lead on this always informative platform. For more information on the event and link to the presentation slides are in the newsletter below.
Do you know of any high school seniors that are looking for a scholarship to attend college? Check out our website www.lislechamber.com for the scholarship application. To qualify, the student must be a son/daughter of a Lisle Area Chamber Member business, live in Lisle or attend a high school in Lisle. The deadline is April 30th. Our campaign to raise additional funds for our scholarships through the Shop Local Dine Local T-Shirt closed last Friday. We thank everyone who purchased a t-shirt for their support.
It is local election time. Candidates are running for Mayor, Village Trustee, Village Clerk, Township, Library District, Park District, and School District. Research all your candidates in your community and vote on Election Day, April 6th. Your one vote can make a difference.

2021 Scholarship Application
High School Seniors
The Lisle Area Chamber of Commerce awards scholarships to high school students graduating in 2021. Awards are based on several considerations that include academic achievement, community involvement, and need.
Application deadline is April 30, 2021 by 4:00 p.m.
Application Requirements
* Applicants must either have an immediate family member who is a member of the Lisle Area Chamber of Commerce (individually or through corporate affiliation), or they must have a Lisle mailing address.
* Applicants must plan to attend a technical or trade school, business college, or a two- or four-year college or university.
* The application packet must be fully and legibly completed.
* The application must be received at the Lisle Area Chamber of Commerce via email submission ([email protected] or [email protected]) or by U.S. Mail postmarked by 4:00 p.m. on April 30, 2021. Applications that are dropped off will not be accepted. The Lisle Area Chamber of Commerce assumes no responsibility for application packets that are not correctly submitted. Expanded Outdoor Dining in Lisle is Back
Just in time for warmer temperatures, the Village of Lisle is continuing its expanded outdoor dining program this year. Lisle’s COVID-19 Outdoor Eating and Drinking Relief Program increases options for restaurants and bars to operate outdoor seating options adjacent to their businesses.
The Program’s goal is to allow for greater social distancing and safety for bar and restaurant-goers and employees with guidance from public health experts and the Restore Illinois Plan. The Village is temporarily allowing businesses to expand existing patio space or establish new patio areas, potentially including parking lots, sidewalks, street parking spaces, to develop outdoor operating areas.
Please take the opportunity to visit the restaurants and bars throughout Lisle, enjoy a variety of delectable meal offerings alfresco, and show your support of our hospitality businesses!

AMBASSADOR SPOTLIGHT
Kimberly Novovesky

This month's featured Ambassador is Kimberly Novovesky. She is the Assistant Vice President Branch Manager at BankFinancial. Kimberly is also the Treasurer on the Chamber's Board of Directors. In addition to being on the Board of Directors, she is on the Ambassador and Dinner Dance Committees as well as volunteering at the Chamber's Golf Outings and Eyes to the Skies Festivals on the Chamber's behalf.
As the Assistant Vice President Branch Manager, Kimberly manages her to team to achieve excellent sales and outstanding customer service. They participate in community events to increase networking opportunities and introduce BankFinancial to potential customers. She has been in the banking industry for over 30 years.
Kimberly lives in Lisle and has 1 grown daughter who bought her house in Malta, Illinois just last year. She has always been an animal lover and currently has a cat and a dog that enjoys her walks when the weather is good. Kimberly joined a local gym 2 years ago and loves her weekly workouts, coaching, plus the nutritional and mindset advice they provide for more balance in life. Over the last year, she has had more time at home due to the pandemic. She discovered that she really enjoys cooking, experimenting with new recipes and has found a new appreciation for red wine.
Being an Ambassador has allowed her to meet many new and interesting people from all walks of life. She feels that it is great to be involved in such a wonderful organization and be socially active in causes to better the community. Kimberly has received such a warm welcome from the Ambassador Committee, that she knew she wanted to share the same with other businesses new to our Chamber. She believes the more involved you are, the more you will benefit from the many offerings the Lisle Area Chamber provides its members. She is happy to represent the Lisle Area Chamber and looks forward to strengthening these relationships in the years ahead.
One of Kimberly's favorite quotes is from Zig Ziglar, "Of all the "attitudes" we can acquire, surely the attitude of gratitude is the most important and by far the most life changing." She is grateful to be part of this community and for the impact the Lisle Area Chamber and its Members have made on her.

MULTI-CHAMBER ECONOMIC OUTLOOK PRESENTATION

On Wednesday, March 3, 2021, business leaders and government officials attended the virtual Annual Multi-Chamber Economic Outlook Presentation which was presented from twenty-nine Chambers of Commerce. Attendees received a presentation by speaker, Anna Paulson, Executive Vice President and Director of Research with the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. Ms. Paulson’s presentation discussed how the pandemic has impacted the economy and provided data and insights for our future economic climate.
Alison Clemens, President of the Westmont Chamber of Commerce and owner of Clemens Enterprises, Inc., remarked, “This event provides excellent and useful information for the business community as we strive to navigate through and beyond the pandemic.” Larry Forssberg, Executive Director, Westmont Chamber of Commerce, remarked “It is crucial to remain informed about the economy and how it may impact our businesses. This information provides useful guidance for decision-makers.”
This event had participation from twenty-nine Chambers representing over 120 communities. Those Chambers were Addison, Bartlett Area, Batavia, Berwyn Development Corporation, Bloomingdale, Bolingbrook, Carol Stream, Chamber630, Chicago Southland, Clarendon Hills, Darien, Elgin Area, Elmhurst, Geneva, GOA Regional, Glen Ellyn, Heritage Corridor, Hinsdale, Lisle, Lombard, Mokena, Oak Park River Forest, Orland Park Area, Plainfield Area, Romeoville Area, St. Charles, West Suburban, Western DuPage, and Westmont.
