Culver-Stockton College was named #1 in Missouri by Plexuss Global Rankings for its commitment to academic excellence in its 2021 publication.
It's no secret that prospective students are utilizing the internet to narrow down their college search and over 7 million students use Plexuss global rankings as a starting point. On March 27th, 2021, the Office of Student Engagement joined Mrs. Cathy Palmer, wife of Culver-Stockton College President Dr. Douglas Palmer, to host an Easter egg hunt in partnership with Chi Omega and the Culver-Stockton Teaching Organization.

Career and Grad School Fair
|
The college hosted an on-campus Career and Grad School fair on Thursday, March 25th in the W.A. Herington Center. Two alumni were present to offer information to prospective employees; Cathy (Rosencrans) Arnold `88 with Charles Industries and Danielle (Wilson) Hedges `11 with Blessing Health Systems.

You Did It- You Helped Us Meet the Day of Giving Match!
|
Thank you to everyone who participated in Culver-Stockton College's fourth annual Day of Giving. It was a GREAT success and, thanks to our community of alumni, parents, and friends, we were able to meet and exceed the $50,000 match.
We raised a total of $135,371 for the Student Scholarship Fund, which provides direct scholarship support to deserving Culver-Stockton students.
Thank you to our alumni-owned restaurant partners, Primo's and Tiramisu, who donated a portion of the proceeds from Thursday, March 18th’s dining day to the Student Scholarship Fund.

Jaryt Hunziker `01 leads the Lady Pirates to state championship
Coach Jaryt Hunziker `01 led the Boonville, MO Girls’ Basketball Team to victory in the Class 4 state title for the first time in school history on Saturday, March 20th.
The Lady Pirates took down Mount Vernon 58-52 to claim the Class 4 title, while finishing the season with an impressive 27-2 record.

Carrie Mahon `93 Named State’s Overall Coach of the Year
Carrie (Connell) Mahon `93, recently led the girls’ basketball program at Plant City, Florida to its first state title. Mahon was named the state's overall coach of the year by the Florida Dairy Farmers. She is only the second area coach to ever win the award.

The Culver-Stockton College men's basketball team placed two players on the 2020-21 Heart of America Athletic Conference Men's Basketball All-Conference Team, the league announced Thursday, February 25.
Guard Robert Fry II was named the league's freshman of the year by league coaches for his play during the 2020-21 season. Fry and forward Jim King were each recognized as honorable mention selections on the all-conference team. Read More

The Culver-Stockton College men's volleyball team had two players named to the 2021 Heart of America Athletic Conference All-Conference Team, the league announced Monday.
Outside hitter Akeel Oxley was named Freshman of the Year by league coaches for his play during the regular season. Oxley was also named to the second team, while senior defensive specialist Mark Jango earned honorable mention accolades. Read More

Melanie Sanchez etched her name into Culver-Stockton College women's lacrosse lore Friday night, March 19th during the game against Clarke University at Ellison Poulton Stadium.
Sanchez scored her second goal of the game 1:37 into overtime to give the Wildcats a 12-11 victory over the Pride and the first win in the program's short two-year history.

Books that have impacted "the Hill"
Can a book change your life? Reading for pleasure has many non-literacy benefits and can increase empathy, improve relationships with others, reduce the symptoms of depression and improve wellbeing throughout life. Reading for pleasure has social benefits as well and can make people feel more connected to the wider community. Reading increases a person’s understanding of their own identity, improves empathy and gives them an insight into the world view of others (The Reading Agency 2015).
