APRIL 2021
GOLF IRRIGATION NEWS
CURRENT CONDITIONS
Welcome to shipping delays, price increases, shortages and more. Yes, since last month’s force majeure update, we watch as gas prices, (and many other prices) just seem to keep creeping up. Fortunately, most of the golf irrigation materials we use are still coming in when we order them. That said, it is hard to get ahead of the demand so the sooner you can let us pre-order materials, the better chance we will have of being ready the day you need them. Thank you so much for your patronage and your patience with us as we navigate these waters together.
IMPORTANT UPDATES FOR SPRING:
START UP YOUR IRRIGATION SYSTEM SLOWLY
Make sure you have a few of the 995-102 Riser Hold Up Tools in stock to "snap on" to sprinklers in areas where you may have a lot of water hammer as the system fills. This tool allows for a high volume of water and air to be evacuated from the system quickly and eliminates the need for removing ANY conversion assemblies from the bodies during system startup.
BOARD EXCHANGE PROGRAM
This is just a friendly reminder that it is time to get your Board Exchange parts organized and ready for the season. Not sure what you need or how to get it? Click here for a form with pictures of each field controller and pricing to make it as easy as possible.
TORO SPECIAL PROGRAMS CONTINUE FOR NOW
Take advantage of these Toro programs to help your dollars go further! If you are planning to utilize any, please do not delay. We don’t know how long they will continue due to component shortages and other logistic challenges our vendors are facing. Click here for a quick summary of what the savings are.
SYSTEM MAINTENANCE FOR APRIL
Listed below are maintenance items to check during the month of April. This is from our yearly irrigation checklist which can be downloaded here.

  • Install Otterbine aerators early for preventative purposes to combat initial algae growth
  • Drive along all mainlines and check for leaks
  • Audit 1/5th of the irrigation system
  • Check all sprinkler heads for operation, rotation and arc adjustment
  • Install a cattle tag in each field controller to repel insects
